  1. Don’t really think the club quite get it yet. They’re trying to get us excited about a new manager (or whatever they bloody call it) when we didn’t actually want the old manager to be sacked. Every minute this goes on, it just pisses me off even more.
  2. Would imagine that this is the type of manager that the Lansdown’s would help deflect criticism away from the glaring error of sacking Nigel Pearson, all because he disagreed with them, and probably told them they had football shit for brains. The “it’s my trainset” school of management that has brought no success in 20 years.
  3. Still struggling with this one at the moment. The thought of a less worthy manager standing there holding a City scarf above his head and grinning like a lemon, with Steve and John Lansdown on either side, really puts a bad taste in my mouth right now. As I’m not the only one who probably feels like this may impact on the new incumbent who’ll start his new role knowing full well that he’s already signed up to play Santa’s little helper, and Big Man Steve’s little lapdog. Still angry.
  4. Neil Warnock anyone? Anyone….Anyone?
  5. Nige will be all tied up in a non disclosure agreement, so alas won’t be appearing on Radio Bristol tomorrow night, plus don’t think he’d want to threaten any chances of a job elsewhere.
  6. Ipswich defenders just touched the ball accidentally. Had his hand on the goalk Arm and it slip down and touched the ball. Penalty
  7. Time to give them a footballing kick in the nuts then.
  8. Amused that having read the Leeds forum that they’re pretty much expected a guaranteed 3 points this afternoon, and seem to already thinking about the next game. Love it when this happens, We could have some fun this afternoon.
  9. One of the worst games of football I’ve seen in years
  10. Yeap. Forum has been down since yesterday.
  11. Apologies for my naivety on the subject of extra investment from a new sugar daddy. But there seems to be a sizeable amount of people who believe a new owner is going to be allowed to invest in the club (give us more money for players) than we are given presently by SL (Scott money aside) Surely FFP rules will apply to the probable Spiv that comes in a promises sunlit uplands too. Plus, Don’t those who want a financial return want the right to flog stuff off if their investment goes pear and they get relegated etc . Sale of the training ground could be a possibility. etc Reeducation most welcome
  12. I can completely understand Steve Lansdown repeatedly pumping in cash to the club with no obvious evident improvement on the pitch. His seeming refusal to do so again with the Scott money, despite there being obvious holes on in our playing squad is clearly an indication to us all that the tap has been turned off, and that the club cannot repeatedly make duff signings, wasting money on players that aren't good enough and simply expect to buy more. Cornick and Mehmeti aren't good enough, and although they may show promise, they both shouldn't be anywhere near the starting eleven on current form. Is it that our scouting isn't good enough, or that there's a disconnect between what Steve Lansdown's been told about these players when the money request goes in, and what he sees in return. Whatever it is, Steve Lansdown has seemingly fallen out of love with something: Pearson? Ungrateful fans? Owning a football club? or the removal of smoke blowers? We must clearly get accustomed to the new reality, until Pearson conjures something out of nothing, which is his job after all. Or Steve falls back in love with football again. Unlike many, I don't believe a new messiah will be able to provide any more funds than we've had already, and almost definitely won't support the other Bristol teams in the same way.

City have only sold parking in the Wicks car park up until Christmas rather than the whole season because of the potential building work. Those selling the parking for the club weren’t able to say, or speculate as the the likelihood that building work would actually begin, but it’s obviously within sight now.
  14. I read earlier in this chain that apparently we can’t compete financially with Coventry or Middlesbrough. I get that Middlesbrough get bigger gates, but Coventry don’t get vastly more. Given that supposedly FFP applies to them too Why is it that this is a generally held belief? Would appreciate anyone’s insight
  15. Sort of like a Covid conspiracy theory. Crikey. Perhaps they’re watching you through your keyboard.
  16. It’s the school holidays, so many are on holiday, like myself. As it turned out, probably having a much better time than you lot.
  17. Always strikes me as absurd that the football season starts so early in August. If you have kids and wait until the school holidays to take the family away for a couple of weeks. You’ll always miss the start of the football season. I’d much prefer the season started towards the end of August or at the start of September. Therefore no one misses any football, the transfer window closes before the season starts and we all get to see more Tuesday night football. Matches under floodlights are always a lot more exciting than games on a Saturday, they just are. Granted there’ll be tedious technical reasons spouted, but Alex Scott transfer aside (although that’s pretty tedious too), I’m struggling to be arsed with football quite yet. I’d also accept that it’s seemed like mid winter almost since the end of the school year.
  18. I’m torn between wanting this whole bloody thing to be over and done with, so I can get on with rest of my life. Whereas there’s part of me that wonders what on earth I’ll do without it. Half my split personality hopes this gets sorted out before the weekend, the other half wants him to score on Saturday afternoon meaning the price will definitely go up to a least 30 million Nige was talking and perhaps beyond, and the thought that all big clubs will be all over us with a rash is somewhat surreal, although we’ll all be justified in saying I told you so. After a lifetime of being used to football mediocrity, all this excitement in which a transfer fee for one of our players is as big as a telephone number feels weird, and it’ll be sad to see him go. But like proud parents watching your kids head off into the world, I can’t wait to see him on the big stage and turning heads all over the world. I rarely watch The Premiership, but I do know that I’ll be watching out for him and I’ll probably be recording the highlights of Bournemouth v Luton or whoever, for the first time in life. Would be fun to see him play just one more game for us on Saturday though
  19. One advantage Alex will have about going to Bournemouth's Vitality Stadium is that it'll feel just like playing at our training ground.
  20. Ashton Gate-Parsons Street Station is 0.8 mile. 18 mins walk according to Google Maps
  21. Works well in principle, and then, a bit like the Church of England (other religions are available) it struggles with the concept of reality, and runs out of steam, usually between Christmas and Easter.
  22. Wondering if we get in all this money people are talking about, whether we’d have enough money to buy Alex Scott.
  23. Has to be said Dave, we’re very late lucky to have you on this forum and as a contributor to the various podcasts. Thank you for all the time and effort you devote to our favourite subject. It’s really appreciated
