For me the excuses end for good next season. It’s on the hierarchy to support the First Team Manager by recruiting what we need. It’s obvious where we lack quality. There is no need to be playing “water treading” football any more. We aren’t in FFFP shite and needing to play kids and 35% possession hit them on the break football at HOME to survive. We’re over the worst of the finance issues and it’s time to improve what we see at the Gate on a Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday etc. If Liam cannot deliver that by October/November he will most likely be gone. In terms of what happened today, it was poor but the season is done and a small number would genuinely benefit from taking a break for their own sanity imo.

Said all along we would be a few hundred maybe several hundred down. Some were predicting thousands down. Was never going to happen…..this season.

But that would need the case for us to go up. We do not have anywhere near the quality to dominate a division. Would we be bothered?

For me today is a good test of the hierarchy. Wake up call, what are you going to do? Need to add some good championship quality, three or four of them alongside those coming back from long term injury, not just Max Bird and that will do us……. We’ll see in the next 12 weeks.

It was shit, that’s my judgement. Won’t be ruining my weekend. Next time we play it won’t be that eleven starting, or it better not be, and that’s when we really start to judge, no hiding places or excuses then. His players, his tactics, his shape, his style etc. Pre-season, new signings and we can finally see what LM brings to the party. If it’s not much he’s gone by October, if it’s something most people will be happy.

I’m as disappointed as the next fan and certainly have reservations on Manning but one or two have been waiting for today to happen by the looks of it. Lose 4-0 on the opening day next season and by all means go in with studs showing………..

For me no credit or debit just cos we were shite today in a game of beach football. New season, clean slate, get in players we need and produce (or not) and then we can form a proper opinion.

Disappointing but no point losing your shit and crying over it. A wake up call to one or two convinced Liam had cracked it and maybe a hierarchy thinking one or two coming into the building will suffice. Starts with a clean slate next season. This result might do us a favour in the long run.
