An unpopular opinion maybe but Wells and Weimann should've been moved on last year IMO. Too old and taking up a huge chunk of the wage budget.

SL has helped us to progress significantly.....off the pitch. The stadium and training ground are both great (though if I were being critical, I'd note that it took him 15 years and they're not THAT remarkable by Championship standards).
On the pitch, the goal has been Premier League football, and we haven't achieved it. In fact, bar 1 season, we haven't really come close. We continue to be one of the biggest underachievers in English football. It's interesting to consider the way our club is viewed externally. @fisherrich states that Ipswich fans see us as a club who lack ambition. Unfortunately, I think this view is common in the EFL. I get the impression we're seen as the Championship version of Tottenham Hotspur - big shiny stadium and a decent fanbase, but ultimately a club of 'losers'. Be it due to lack of ambition or lack of competence, we're seen as a club who will find a way to fail, no matter how strong our position may seem. Unfortunately, this 'loser' identity forms an element of Lansdown's legacy at the club, along with progress in terms of infrastructure.
I wonder how many other clubs of roughly our size would trade their last 20 years for the stewardship of Steve Lansdown. Sure, you get the positive of stability, but you also get the negative of a lack of success. Portsmouth and Wigan have had some awful ownership in recent times - but they have both also had 7/8 years in the Prem and an FA cup win since Lansdown took over here. Birmingham and Swansea have won major trophies in that time too. Clubs like Bournemouth, Brentford, Luton, Barnsley, and Blackpool have all achieved Premier League status, whilst Brighton have even finished in the top 6!
How many clubs feel any inspiration or jealousy when they look at Bristol City's last 20 years? How many would choose to trade their last 20 years with ours? Very very few I imagine.
About sums up how I feel about City. Great post.

Whatever happened to the London branch?
Still going strong - Sunday league team (as per above) and a group of about 40-50 of us who go to home and away games etc.
Also there's a weird obsession with Richard & Judy in the group. No one is sure why tbh.

Not being tired after Tuesday? You clearly don't understand or appreciate how physically demanding professional football is, let alone playing a top 3 club side in the world.
And that's before you get to the mental / emotional fatigue with a first team full of young and relatively inexperienced players.
Plus we've got a tiny squad who've been stretched to their limit since NY.
Give em a break!

If needed could move Pring to left centre back and use Dasilva as left back.

Forest, both Sheffield teams, both Liverpool teams prove that you can be a PL club from a two-team mid-size city.
Yeah but both are football loving cities. Bristol is most definitely not unfortunately.

I don’t say anything to my postman, but I should tell him to stop dropping rubber bands on my drive. Does anyone else have this problem?
YES

Apart from the beautiful stadium, the state of the art training ground, the excellent academy and the fact that we have lasted in the Championship- what have the Lansdowns ever done for us??
Year on year failure in the football department. You know, the bit that matters.

JD has one job and that’s to cross the ball effectively. So far he’s managed about one decent cross in twenty attempts.
Cam is head and shoulders (literally) above him.

I think it's similar in the Dolman which was sponsored by a waste management company a while back (I don't know if they are still sponsors)

Our problem in midfield is goals. Of the 62 goals we’ve scored in the league, midfield has contributed 9 - 4 from Scott, 1 each from James, King, Palmer, O’Dowda and Bakinson.
The forwards have been brilliant but we need more goal scoring contribution from midfield if we’re going to get into the top half of the division. I like their solidity but I don’t see James and Williams scoring many between them.
I disagree. We’re scoring plenty of goals (4th highest goal scoring team the championship?).
What we actually lack is defensive midfielders to break down play and protect the back 3/ 4.

True, plus if there really is a club out there going “we should sign that bloke, he’s always on Bristol City’s Twitter feed” they are appallingly run.
Sounds like City's recruitment process tbh

The short corners have been painful to watch. And more often than not we don’t even get the ball into the box - it ends up back with defence.

Oh god no, how on earth will we survive?
Jesus wept.

That was ham-fisted at best

Not if SL doesn't see value in buying players for NP's 3rd year when it's unlikely he'll carry with a new deal after this season.
If anything SL will be keeping his powder dry until we hire a new manager next year. As to whether that hire will be actually any good is anyone's guess.. especially based on SL's dire recruitment form.
