  1. Shocker !! But will this increase or decrease the chances of AS joining them ? Strange one this but pleased for GON !
  2. Bottom line yesterday was that we were bullied by a huge , physically strong team ( but not dirty) who looked extremely competent but lacked ambition to go forward at times . We were never going to compete with them physically so opting for Cornick as our biggest forward was a waste of time . Should have played one up top and packed the midfield to give us width and more chance to get in behind them . Wrong tactics from the off in hindsight sadly .
  3. Preston were on the whole excellent today but only tried to win the game when 1-0 down . Biggest 11 I’ve ever seen and could all play a bit but seemed to be reluctant to press their clear superiority in the first half . For our part we were never gonna get anywhere today without getting our wide men in behind them which we just didn’t do enough unfortunately. Dickie looks an absolute gem though !
  4. Yep . His stock is definitely rising after today !
  5. Yep . If day two of pre-season doesn’t go well then Ismael’s position could be totally untenable ?
  6. Apparently he resigned and wasn’t sacked . I’m wondering if he made up his mind after the abuse he and his family received after their first leg hammering at Peterborough? May have thought “I ain’t putting up with this but but will see it out and stick two fingers up if by some miracle we win “
  7. Wow ! That’s criminal ! If we were all sacked tomorrow after meeting all of our work objectives with ease and replaced before we had chance to take the photo of the Mrs off the desk , we’d be straight onto an employment solicitor and we’d all win ! How football continues to get away with this beggars belief !
  8. It’s an app on the phone but you can request a season card if you wish . Just have to elect which type you want when you buy on line
  9. Must admit I couldn’t quite understand the ridiculous praise given to Edison for his match winning miracle save ! ( Not the one that actually was a match winning miracle save . It was the one that bounced up off his knee that he knew xxxx all about !!)
  10. I think the reason may partly be that the Championship has become the new top flight for most fans . The standard is very good and it’s competitive. Unlike the utterly predictable Premier league where you could with a large degree of accuracy pick the top 10 and bottom 3 every year before a ball is kicked . It’s fantasy land really with only a tiny handful of clubs genuinely expecting to win anything and the other 90% hanging on for dear life . Where’s the fun in that ? Then ……….. you have the Championship and that’s why it’s proving so popular !
  11. 100% agree . Over hyped and totally commercial with the actual game itself being almost secondary . Man City have won the treble and I’m sure Man City fans will be pretty chuffed for a few days until their joy is eroded by the fact that they totally expected to win it anyway . Personally I watch football for the joy and disbelief that Hammers fans experienced last week . Not the box ticking excercise completed by Man City fans yesterday !
  12. To be fair they’ve been on the beach since before Easter so he probably thinks they’ve already had enough of a rest !!!
  13. And that’s fine to have that view but those charges have not come out of nowhere . No club in existence has had the number of charges for Financial breaches /corruption/ cheating whatever description we choose the use , levelled at them and I struggle to get past that ! The two clubs have played the biggest possible part in converting top flight football into a corporate empire first and sport second doing all that they can with their wealth to monopolise the football pyramid.
  14. Possibly my strangest ever Cup final ! First time I can ever recall both finalists being so universally disliked amongst the wider football “family” as these two clubs . One side awaiting the outcome of more charges than any other side in history and the other widely blamed for the demise of the trophy for which they’re competing today ! On balance I think I’d settle for Stop Oil protestors getting it called off ?
  15. I’m banking on us getting there in nine years time when I hit 65 as I might be able to afford a Prem season ticket if I can get OAP prices ?
  16. No no, he does have a point . Notts County finished 3rd in the top flight in 1900 now look at em !

    Playoffs

Really mixed feelings towards todays Championship final . Both sets of fans have been through a mincer in recent years and I’ll be happy for either ! Can’t help but feel totally perplexed however at how these two have got where they have without a pot to p@@s in yet we’ve never got there ! Surely by the law of averages we’ll get there one day ? Will be one of only 4 Championship clubs next season never to have played in the Prem !
  18. I actually agree . Leeds squad looks like an average Championship squad , Leicester is an aging squad and will need a big turn over but Southampton will surely lose Ward -Prowse who has been their heartbeat for five seasons plus now . The sides coming up will be decent too so it’ll be an interesting season I think !
  19. First time watching a whole Leeds game this season . Jesus they were , absolute dross! No lack of effort but barely a Prem quality player in their squad . Like many struggling sides their confidence looked shot to pieces .
  20. Huge mistake that . They’ll find themselves right at the back of the queue for summer signings and have buggered their chances of getting business done early ! Never mind ?
  21. Just had a second goal ruled out for offside with the latest flag ever seen . Blackburns CB already retrieved the ball out of the net before the flag went up ?? With no VAR how can the Lino go from flag down for a full 5 seconds after a goal to suddenly waving it in the air ?
  22. And a bloody long way from Hull too !
  23. ? Call me Ee-or ?
  24. Without wishing to be too gloomy I think next seasons top 3 are all but decided already with Southampton , Leeds, Everton , Forest or West Ham coming down . Certainly feels like the strongest 3 relegated sides for years and add in the millions they’ll each be given to “ cover the losses of relegation/ spend on £10m players “ , Cardiff, BCFC etc improving will sadly be pretty irrelevant ?
