On RB after the match, the summariser (haven’t a clue whom he was) said “I just hope that Matt can get it right because we all know that Rovers are a sleeping giant …”. FFS. Sleeping giant my arse.
Well, my arse is a sleeping giant, admittedly………….but when it stirs, TAKE COVER

For any City in Lanzarote ATM, Justin will be showing the game live at the Owl and Pussycat in PDC this afternoon. Take a phrasebook as it'll be full of Northerners, mind!

And if it doesn't we could always sell it to the gash for their new stadium !
Why would they move here? They've only been at the fruit market stadium for a couple of seasons, surely?

Living in Worcester at the time, I had a couple of pints with Geoff Merrick in the player's lounge at St George's Lane after a Worcester City v Bath game in the Gola League (or it might have been the Alliance Premier League) after he came back from a spell playing in Hong Kong. We talked BCFC and I confirmed that he'd been my role model for putting blokes into Row M. He wasn't bitter at all about our darkest days and was (I think) chuffed to talk all things Ashton Gate. The man is still my hero, although I did break my leg putting in a Sir Geoff type tackle in a lads v dads game a few years later!!

Of course, Liam has had 2 great FA Cup games, but it's the league statistics that's the most important.
Sadly, I suspect that we'll continue struggling to break down championship teams for the remainder of the season………..but go on to win the bloody FA Cup!
If so, I'll boo

We have one that runs down the side of the house. I went and sat in it for the West Ham game and still couldn't get a decent coverage.
Years back, I was at a film studio near Fonteney le Comte doing a voiceover for a company training video. The Producer was doing all of the technical stuff cutting sections together to make sense. So, I spent much of 3 days sat on the edge of the stream running through the garden dangling my feet in whilst sunning myself, just responding to the times he stuck his head out of a window to tell me I was needed.
Just like you @BigTone I got little to no signals at all from the stream. Must be a French issue, then.

Gashead in work, any chance I could have either the 27th or 28th off as annual leave. Me, no
A few years back when I was site manager on a job in Kintyre, an agency sent me a site labourer. He lived about 35 miles from the site so it sounded positive. Turned up in a blue quartered jesters outfit wiv a Gert funny accent. Seems that he left Bristol to shack up with some sort he'd encountered in Benidorm, who lobbed him out pretty soon after he'd burned his west country bridges! I could have had him litter picking most of the time.......but those toxic crappers weren't going to clean themselves every 2 hours. I don't have a west country accent and didn't crack on who my team was, so he couldn't accuse me of being a Ted who might have been picking on him for the very best of reasons. General comments to him like "I've been to your ground a couple of years ago and I thought it was really good"......... I watched the goon bask in a bit of glory and then I quickly followed up with " That view of Brunel's bridge is outstanding"! Also got all of the Scottish lads working for me on site to call him 'City'. Not really a popular lad though!

I have had a chance to see TC's disallowed goal now, and while I would probably have given him the benefit of the doubt, I think he was just marginally in a different postcode. From my viewpoint, Tommy's front foot was in Dagenham

Not sure how this got through my Feckov filter on Yahoo mail, but I might as well put in for it. First bullet point tells me that I must
"Monitor the crowd throughout the ground for signs of distress or overcrowding".
I might be a tad busy with the distressed ones……….but, overcrowding? That sounds like the cushy part of the job!

Hi Mods, could you please roll out the OTIB red carpet for the g4s forum legend that is 'Pirate'? With outlandish and divisive opinions like those in his/her/other posting, there's a fairly swift banishment to 'join they gert teds' rumbling up on the horizon.

Posts: 17,210With all due respect, there is zero evidence the new owners had the means to personally write off £2.2million on one player and looks like when it came to the crunch we were found wanting, because there is absolutely no reason why having agreed a deal with 2 hours left of the deadline (and the Peterborough United Head of Football Operations even helping us speed up the paperwork) that we shouldn't have completed the paperwork and deal in plenty of time. If you want to believe poor old Bristol Rovers somehow simply missed the two deadlines by a matter of seconds/minutes (despite having 2 HOURS to get it over the line) then that is your prerogative, but it certainly doesn't wash with me.

Or staying silent for a little while longer to figure out plan A is definitely dead vs getting plan B onto the front burner.
conygar may depend on us to get the area up and running and We probably hold a very good set of cards and may be trying for a final ace with a threat of pulling out. We already have a stadium and land. Maybe its us who are in charge for a change.- 16

What a delightful picture the Corinthian Casuals v Hartley Wintney tie conjures up. Spectators with huge moustaches and straw boaters sitting in deckchairs and clapping politely when a goal is scored. The half time entertainment would be a brass band or possibly a dancing bear.
Went to watch Daventry Town at Hartley Wintney a few years back in an FA Cup 4th qualifier. Dav went one down early doors but turned it round to a 6-1 win. Got league one Chesterfield away in the next round. Whilst there wasn't too much evidence of huge moustaches or straw boaters at the pretty HW ground, there were a lot of complete neds from both towns playing up when the shandies kicked in. A tad embarrassing for what was otherwise a decent clash between two half tidy non-league sides.

Watched them stiff AEK on Wednesday in the second leg in Athens. Eliasson came off the bench around 70 minutes and made a difference. Not enough though. Hoping to watch AEK again if they pick up wham, l'pool or Brighton in the Europa League draw. Their fans do a great AEK ole, ole, ole!

I remember the fans that did travel down South to the Gate waited until the very end (they'd long been relegated) to applaud their side, then they were impressively supportive of our lads as they did their lap of honour too. I have a lot of respect for Rotherham fans after that day. Plus, they seem to accept their lot without much fuss……..unlike those delusional sorts over at the stolen rugby ground.
