Im sure i will recognise the name but i've no idea. Was he perhaps Portugese as the country was once a part of the kingdom?

    AFCON 2023

BBC have announced they are showing a limited number of matches, including Saturdays opener. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/67948391
  3. Tournament starts on Saturday. Few useful links below, couple of guides and the TV schedule. Ivory Coast (hosts) v Guinea-Bissau is the first match up, 8pm KO our time. All matches on Sky. Semenyo is in the Ghana squad, so hopefully shines if given the chance and adds a few £ to his worth. Certainly a few more household names across the squads these days and often a few upsets along the way. I won't be watching all the qualifying games myself but there will be some decent fixtures on the way to the Final. https://theathletic.com/5178689/2024/01/10/afcon-2024-salah-ivory/] https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/africa/67285720 https://www.radiotimes.com/tv/sport/football/afcon-2023-tv-live-stream/

You are correct, it was Keegan, thanks Mr P.

I'll never forget this night. One of the most memorable England games in my lifetime. We beat them 1-0 in the Euros with Hoddle but this one was truely cathartic.
  6. Indeed. I liked this bit in particular... Getting out on the grass and empowering the people you already have by getting them in touch with their emotions (passion and desire mainly). By all means, start executing on your big plans around infrastructure. But on the football side, the emphasis should be as much on what you remove as what you add. Eliminate all the headaches that have plagued previous managers and see what the baseline is. Find out what the Birmingham you inherited was capable of when managed properly.
  7. Thanks for clarifying and i agree in the main with your points. I suppose what i'm saying is, if they think they can get rid on a perm deal they will and that would be the reason for a recall and potentially sending him back out. I don't think anyone will pay £5m for him and that's the sticking point. Do we have a budget for a transfer like that today, i don't think we do. We have some more funds but not to that level. I do think we will be better placed to make a more costly signing(s) in the summer once wages have been freed up.
  8. 1. So they could sell him. As far as i know he is only on loan to Hull with no agreed price to buy in the summer. 2. Is it not possible to negotiate a better price then and have a TGH deal in place or is the press talk of £5m gospel and set in stone? By your logic of "if there is an agreed fee then we could buy him now, no need for a loan", then why didn't we do that with TGH in the summer? Perhaps we might have more cash available this summer when several of our senior players are out of contract than we do now. You might not agree but it's hardly confusing.
  9. Why confused @GrahamC? It made sense to me but then i haven't long woken up!
  10. Would a loan with option to buy be possible? Either way, the price is currently to high for us surely. The only way i could see the price coming down a bit is if Burnley go down but then they might choose to keep him.
  11. I think he has said previously he wouldn't want to do it as his loyalties are too strong. Would be good though, i do like JP.
  12. It's a right mess but that sounds like a reasonable thing to do considering. There will have almost certainly been some scalpers buying them up.
  13. We are on the beeb... https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/67926557 The FA Cup third-round replay between Bristol City and West Ham United will be shown live across the BBC. The tie will take place on Tuesday, 16 January live on BBC One, BBC iPlayer and the BBC Sport website and app.
  14. Christ they are even speculating on how much they will make from the 3 games. Away and home to Norwich, plus Liverpool away inc TV rights=£1m in the bank apparently. The Liverpool game is being compared to the same numbers they would make from a L1 play off final. Absolutley deluded and utterly desperate for this to happen. I bet Maidstone aren't getting that carried away and they are actually in the 4th round with a nice away trip waiting for them.
  15. Norwich would only be allocated around 9k but you know, Rovers are so loved by these big sides that Liverpool will happily allow them up to 30%. Some of the comments on their forum are hillarious. One exiled fan is looking at booking flights back to the UK, whilst another already has his travel itinerary up and is asking for decent pubs near the ground! I hope Norwich give them a right spanking. I don't recall us getting erections when we had the same fixture in waiting if we had beaten Shrewsbury a few years back. We all like to dream of a big draw, they just wet dream
  16. Having a kick about with Bobby and Pele now. RIP Legend
  17. Yeh man, it's a quality goal, from Knights sweet touch to Williams insta-through ball then Tommys 1st touch and finish. They'll be replaying that one a few times on the way home.
  18. Highlights are up https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/av/football/67873555
  19. Good cup tie and well worth the replay. Max MOM keeping us in it. Delighted for those of you that travelled, particularly those that went by train. Great support
  20. Given the opposition I think we've done ok. Can't go 2-0 I think we will get a chance or 2 if we can stay in it.
  21. Post now running a live blog, don't know how accurate or up to date the info will be but might help... https://www.bristolpost.co.uk/news/bristol-news/gwr-train-disruption-bristol-football-9018963
  22. Classy. Seeing as GWR themselves said yesterday they would running. No need for those sort of comments to fellow supporters.
