Always struck me as someone who liked the pro football lifestyle and the attention that went with it more than the football itself. Post 2018 WC win he never really looked interested anytime i saw him play. No great loss to the game these days and effectively ends his career.

If he gives a polite clap as he comes out to warm up i can see him getting the same back but once the games underway i hope he gets pelters. 50 odd goals, thanks very much but it was pretty much after that point he was just turning up for the pay cheque. That's not been forgotten.

Quite how we manage to put in 2 polar opposite peformances within the same week is beyond me. They looked clueless today. Couldn't even manage the basics right.
