some good news on offside decisions

This seems ridiculous. Surely it makes no difference if there is a very promising attack or a goal scoring opportunity, even if there isn't and someone picks up the ball from an offside position, everything following that would come as a result of said player being offside - how long will the officials allow the incorrect offside call to stand? Will they allow the current phase of play to come to its end? Just wondering as a player could be slightly offside, the same team could then knock it around for a couple of minutes ahead of winning a corner and scoring from it. Would that decision from 5 minutes ago be reviewed once the goal goes in? Essentially meaning whatever happened over that 5 minute spell was irrelevant, they'd essentially be trying to score for no reason as it would be disallowed upon review anyway. Would there also be more than one decision to review at this stage? Or do these calls (or lack of) get forgotten about altogether as they didn't form part of a promising attack at the time of the offside incident? Am I being stupid here? (it is early still...)

    World Cup Fantasy Football

Does anybody know if there is an option to change your team name? I popped a random name in initially so I could create my team ahead of thinking of a witty team name but can't for the life of me find out how to change it.

    Driving In Bristol Rush Hour

It feels like some people would rather sit in traffic sometimes. Gives them a better chance to send that really important text or see that incredible Instagram picture...

    Meeting footballers in unexpected places.

Bumped into David Batty in Menorca the same summer he'd missed that penalty in 1998. I did well not to bring it up. Met the England Squad in Brazil - that was kind of unexpected as they didn't turn up for the games there.

    Driving In Bristol Rush Hour

My commute would be much less stressful/time consuming if people knew which lane they needed to be in driving south past Temple Meads.

    England Squad Wednesday

Same, the time doesn't seem to be confirmed. I only got one step further by hearing on the radio that it will be this afternoon... No indication of what time this afternoon though.

    Interesting read about Dyche

They are hilarious. I was going to ask how long it would take for them to pick up on this article to further back their obvious superiority as fans. So predictable.

    England Squad Wednesday

I quite like the look of our attacking options. Something like the below as a front 4 in a 4-2-3-1 would be pretty exciting: Sterling Alli/Lingard Rashford Kane As for the squad itself and particularly the fringe players, I'd like to see Sessegnon, Shelvey and Alexander-Arnold included. The Lallana situation bugs me a bit, if he was pivotal to the squad like a Gerrard/Rooney/Beckham of the recent past, I'd understand the concern about getting him fit in time. I really struggle to see how a case can be made for him to be on the plane. He shows some quality at times, but he's only featured 11 times this season. He'll almost certainly still be included though.
  11. I think Brazil. Decent rebuild after that embarrassing defeat to Germany at the last World Cup. Lost the first qualification game to Chile in Santiago (no real shame in that) but unbeaten throughout the rest of qualifying. A little more impressive than when England manage to go unbeaten in qualifying. Qualifying without loss to Argentina, Uruguay & Columbia and beating each in the process is pretty impressive. They did have a shocking Copa America in between but I get the feeling they'll turn up for the World Cup. Injuries might be an issue though - Dani Alves already ruled out of the tournament and Neymar's racing to be fit.

    Jon Stead

Top bloke. If you didn't know otherwise, you'd think that he had been at the club for years and years judging by the way he represented it. Not your stereotypical journeyman.

    Southville RPZ Extended to Saturday’s

Baffles me reading some comments on this. People choose to live next to a football stadium and are seemingly surprised when a shed load of people turn up to park every other Saturday.

    style of clothing

Considering a large number of people now buy pretty much everything online, I'm not too surprised that they decided to make it the size it is. Try and push everyone to the website instead. They probably make more money from the bar (which is well sized) on the other side of the wall on a match day. I've only been in there once (purely to have a nose around), never really felt the need to go in there on any other occasion - might be different if I had young uns.

    Bristol Rovers Dustbin Thread

Tailored or not (no pun intended), there's something quite funny about opening up the link to GasChat and seeing a 'Red shirts wanted' advertisement at the bottom of the page:
