Their bad run started even earlier & it hasn’t even stopped.

As painful as that season was for us, we went to Boro, Swansea & Birmingham & won & gritted out a vital point at Blackburn. The point at Sheff Wed with 10 men after a terrible handball penalty decision saw Lansbury sent off was pretty huge, too.

QPR don’t look like they can get a point off of anyone.

Except West Brom. 2-2 now…Chris Martin!!!

After a dodgy first 20 minutes, it was a strong team performance. For me, the best players were Zak Vyner, Andy King, Matty James, Jay Dasilva and Sam Bell.

I agree all played very well. I thought Tanner was excellent too.

    Looks that way.

    Wigan & Blackpool have gone.

Shame in a way, because I’d like Cardiff, Reading & Huddersfield (because of Warnock) to all get relegated.

Agree about Wigan and Blackpool. They needed points today. As much as I’d like Cardiff and Reading to go, QPR are in free fall. They’ve lost 9 of the last 10!

Have a feeling Everton will beat Spurs tonight and drag Wolves into the mix, who’s remaining fixtures do not look easy.

I have a number of friends who support Wolves. They tend to be a bit smug and condescending when talking about city. I’ve had the misfortune of seeing us getting well beaten by them too many times. A small part of me doesn’t want to go through that again, but most of me would be absolutely delighted if they went down.

Well I thought OTC was so out of his depth today he was like a ballperson who had mistakenly stayed on the pitch when the game started. Could easily have been pulled after 20 mins. ?

    That better?

    That’s more like it. ?

  6. As per title. Too much apathy for me. No two footed tackles or even a cross word or two.

Come on OTIB. The match day thread is barely 10 pages. Cornick is being quietly defended and the state of the pitch being mused over.
That’s not what I log on Saturday nights for.

  7. I’m all for it. In my view a free kick should infer an advantage. Too often an offence is committed that allows the defending team to reset, making it more difficult for the team that was fouled. I would like to see a rule change that encourages/ allows it in most circumstances.

  8. Joe is a very different kind of character to most footballers. His dad is a surgeon (operated on GJ) and had to be very much persuaded that Joe’s immediate future was in football. He has talked about potentially training as a doctor when his career is over. I can see him setting back in the area and starting his second career here.
I think this may have some mileage.  Would love to have him back.

My issue is the train drivers are earning decent money yet in a time of hardship others have had to suffer for them line there own pockets even more that’s why I have little support for them

It wasn’t actually really the train drivers on strike. The government and right wing press pushed that narrative because they were hoping there would be a lack of support from the public. The vast majority of those striking were support staff, for example cleaners, who are very poorly paid.

  10. I don’t understand the issue here. Bentley went to wolves. We got in an experienced keeper as a back up as Max had forced his way into the team. Said keeper thought he could replace Max and earn a contract with us or put himself in the shop window. Max has played well and said keeper doesn’t feature. His plan hasn’t worked. He is given the option of first team football at his old club. We are in mid table obscurity so the need for an experienced number two is not as important as it seemed in January. We decide the move works for everyone under the current circumstances so both parties are happy to make it happen now.

I really don’t think there’s any more to it.

I’m not sure you can legislate for Atkinson, Kalas and Naismith all being injured at the same time, unless you expect them to have a crystal ball

NP has also mentioned previously that Towler was behind Pring and Tanner as a centre half. This means we would need two more injuries before he would be in line to play.

It’s a similar rhetoric, albeit Towler is a much better player, to the Louis Britton nonsense last season.

  12. After the battering we got first half I thought we showed some character in the second. Difficult night but a few positives. Scott managed himself well again and has done well to avoid a ban. OTC was thrown into a difficult situation and did well. We kept going looked most likely to score at the end.

Hopefully James is back for the weekend, and Naismith and Conway following the break.
