Good opportunity to see what we’re made of.
Chocolate or Granite.

So good I posted it twice

Playing really well. We look a decent side. Deserve to be a couple up.

Nope. You and my wife!

Reminded me of a young Middlesbrough defender in the mid, late-80s. Can you guess who?
Tony Mowbray?

This illustrates @ExiledAjax’s point about second in xG. Coupled with our chance conversion that is quite a potent combination.

Williams didn’t make a single tackle in the first 70 mins against Luton and that, frankly, is unforgivable!
I agree that was poor. But on the plus side he didn’t misplace a single pass either.

King is one of the whipping boys though isn't he, so it was always going to be his fault even if Naismith had turned and smashed it into his own net.
To be fair NR it would count as an assist.

Same 11 as Cardiff. Strong bench.

It's hard isn't it?
I keep telling myself we are not out of August yet.
I keep telling myself we lost the first two matches of the season.
I keep telling myself that we had a similar start under Dean Holden, with one defeat in September and then never won a game in October.
I keep telling myself that the vultures are circling for our prize assets.
But then I see the way we are playing, and we have looked so good even with only 20 minutes from our star striker.
But then I see that we seem to have strength in depth in many positions.
But then I see the younger players taking their chances to be a part of it all
But then I see the attitude in the camp and the atmosphere, and being told by a player "it's as good as I can remember in my career".
But then I see a coaching team who are experienced enough, but flexible enough to deal with the changes in the game, and somehow it feels different to me this time.
But there is a familiarity in that it's how I felt about successful teams here in the past.
But I am reigning in the positivity....
Maybe a hammering at Blackpool will help.

Hopefully @IAmNick is prepped and ready to give us the goals as they go in.
I’m a big fan of his EFL cup efforts.

Maybe but Antoine Semenyo is.
Semenyo’s so fast he can bend space time.
Not sure it will catch on.

Einstein showed that time was relative. In doing so he proved that in football a week is 8 days. I'd explain further but the equations are a bit complicated.
Time does slow down the faster you travel due to momentum bending the fabric of space time. However I doubt @cidercity1987 is quick enough to make it happen.

It's still on the front page, you could have posted this in there!
But I agree with you .... although I sometimes almost join in with the hyperbole, adjusting it to "3 games in just over a week"

A week from 16.45 on a Saturday is 16.44 the following Saturday
So yes, it is three games in a week
Your first sentence is correct. Your second would only be correct if we kicked off at 16.45 in the first game and at 15.00 in the “third”.
Using your example a week from 15.00 one Saturday is 14.59 the next and we haven’t kicked off yet.Yes I know

Next week we have 3 games in a week. Does that make you feel better?
It really does, because it’s one of the rare occasions that it is true.

Following on from the thread about the phrases that annoy on OTIB I thought I would share my fury at the now common assertion that teams play 3 times a week.
There are 7 days in a week. Playing Saturday, Tuesday/Wednesday and then Saturday is twice a week, the 7 day period ends on Friday!!!
Am I in a minority of 1?
(Won’t be the first time.)

I understand the OP and I do think it was a very good time to take 3 points , with the performance an added bonus
But it’s not a turning point , we weren’t crap before tonight , or a much better side now
We are very much a work in progress and I foresee some bumps and setbacks through the season and probably for another 12-18 months yet
The secret, for me , is to ride the waves , and enjoy games like tonight , and the emergence of three of our ‘own’ talented young players , the relentless effort and professionalism of a certain Mr Weimann , and a manager who is gradually and methodically trying to stabilise a mess rather than polishing his own ego
Excellent post imo. I think you’re right about me classing it as a turning point. I was feeling a little giddy with the performance. The forward play, defensive resilience and togetherness was something I haven’t seen for a quite a while.
I am very pro Pearson and think he is turning round the tanker. It has taken longer than I hoped, but last night gave me a glimpse of what he is trying to produce for us on a consistent basis. The intensity and energy in our play reminded me of his Leicester team. We are not there yet, and there will be bumps for sure, but I felt like I had glimpsed into our future and it was brilliant.
I am hopeful that performances like that will help turn some of the naysayers.
I may also have had a few beers.

Positive performances all over the pitch. Really hard to single anyone out. Well done boys.

Felt like a huge night to me. Not only the way we pressed and moved the ball, but the resolute defending and the way we stood together. Also a connection with the crowd who enjoyed the boys giving it everything.
Even the sending off may have helped as it really helped to foster that togetherness.
Lots of fantastic performances.
A brave selection that some ripped into before the game. Well done NP. Really looking forward to Sunday. COYR.
