I would suggest many of the regular contributions on here are from season ticket holders and regular attendees who do put their money where their mouths are unlike the majority of Fewers I know who are all mouth tbh. The fact we are not far off tripling their attendance gives most people a clue and makes THEIR  attempts at comparing support with ours all the more laughable……….

The easiest way to avoid being offended on behalf of your Gas mates and the Few generally is to give this thread a wide berth tbh.

It’s always amusing when a City ‘fan’, who is glued to their armchair, decides to slag off the gas attendances - yep their crowd figures are low, but at least those guys and gals get out there and support their team. Yeh, but with all due respect - that FA Cup final wasn’t within 20 years of our epic top of the table duel with them - I listened to the ex Spurs and Watford keeper Gomes on the radio today and he said in his first season with Watford they had five different managers - they seem to change them for fun a couple of times a season - I know they’ve had their forays into the promised land but they are hardly a stable club in my opinion - but at least it’s never boring being a Hornets fan - us on the other hand ...

Even though you are totally against ‘getting the ball forward’ - I want our centre halves to play crisp early passes to our midfielders who are poised on the half turn - and they can then bang in early passes to lively strikers who are making runs in behind static defenders or they can play in wide players down the channels - quick, crisp and lively - that’s my formula for ‘getting the ball forward’

I’m sorry you don’t want our lads to ‘get the ball forward’ but I think we are more likely to score goals if we do...

Having followed our glorious club home and away for 49 years, I can confirm that every goal I’ve ever seen us score has been as a result of us getting the ball forward ... if you get the ball forward you get closer to your opponents’ goal - and you are then naturally more likely to score - the opposite of what annoyed you is ‘getting it backwards’ - hardly a footballing tactic likely to produce goals ...
