At the first checkpoint they scanned my Fan ID and then immediately afterwards they scanned my ticket - both gave a green tick on the machine, then I had to go through an airport-style security scanner / metal detector. I don’t know whether the scanning of the Fan ID and ticket will only work if both are registered to the same name, or whether having a valid Fan ID in one name and a valid ticket in another name will get you through (I suspect it would, given that some tickets aren’t assigned to named individuals, eg sponsor tickets - and anyone holding one of those would also need to get through the same security cordon).
