Lee Johnson was one of the number of potential candidates that the Fulham owner spoke to over the last week. Lee thought over the offer and decided that a job for life at Bristol City was a better option.

Another manager who wins a club promotion and then gets the bullet. We do live in strange times.

Wasn't it Southampton , who several years ago, won promotion to the Prem and then sacked their manager immediately? That was harsh but in a business sense shrewd, as they haven't yet been relegated .

But ripped up everything they were doing right at the time . . . .blooding youngsters and selling them on a massive up mark in price

And they might still have been in the Premiership if they didn't sack him!

Mates with a Southampton fan. They replaced him with Pochettino then he quit, then in came Koeman- two great choices. Harsh on Adkins undeniably, but at the same time they were upgrades for sure.

Puel? Not so much, though 8th and a Cup final plus a brief run in Europe is alright for a club of that size- what they'd give for it atm?

Pellegrino and seemingly Hughes just taking them on a downward trajectory- Hughes did well to save them, but looking in from the outside it seems like the beginning of a Sunderland or a Swansea type decline and eventual drop.
