What a night that was. Beating Man Utd was a better experience but that moment at half time against Man City.... I'm not really sure how to explain it, it was just pure perfection as a City fan. I ran straight down to the concourse to grab a beer but had no chance, the concourse atmosphere for those 15 mins was absolutely magical.

We were away to one of the greatest footballing sides England has ever seen. Littered with stars and managed by the greatest manager on earth. It's not a stretch to say that they were probably the best side on the planet at that time. And there we were, 1-0 up with 8,000 of our fans away to that great side. People can compare to beating Liverpool at Anfield but that Liverpool side was nothing compared to the team we had to face at the Etihad. A genuinely world class team. It was just fantastic.

And losing 2-1? I've never felt less downbeat at losing a match before. After the game was just immense pride.

As for the return leg... if Brownhill had got that cross in properly just before Man City got their final goal I'd love to have seen what would've happened. I think it would have gone to extra time (where away goals applied after the 30 mins) but I could be wrong.

Half their supporters stuck on the M6 and 4 nil down......

I saw this earlier, an hour before KO and only one of their 28 coaches had arrived. The bbc now reporting 34 coaches and minibuses have arrived but also seen elsewhere on social media  many had turned around and returned home as motorway shut in both directions. Seems a lorry load of immigrants had ran away from a lorry across the motorway when it was stopped by police. Southbound opened now but northbound still shut. Crazy

Just seen some motorist footage on Sky taken on the M6 right next to the trailer in question with what looks like about 10-15 people jumping out under police cordon.

Too much to flag or escort the coaches through?

A much better performance than beating a very underwhelming Man Utd at home imo.

Get real FFS, why even compare the two? Both were absolute incredible performances from us against World class teams from City and Utd, that will live long in the memory.

Because you can compare?

Man U were definitely not world class at that point. Both were decent performances but City Away was the best of the lot.

The Man U clearly more memorable due to the way it ended.

Closet United fan? They were and are a fairly mundane team by their standards.

City were unbeaten I think, we were away from home and played in a way no other team had against them up to that point.

Look at their line up again £400m + playing that night, most of them would get into any team, not our problem Mourinho couldn’t get them playing like they should be.

Their line up was much better compared to ours - that wasn’t the point. They weren’t world class like Man C were. Nowhere near in fact.

Utd fan?  I’m from Bristol mate why on earth would I support anyone from another City?

I couldn’t careless what Man Utd’s standards are but their starting 11 and bench bar a couple would walk into most sides around the world, yes there form and playing style wasn’t the best at that time, that’s down to Mourinho, most of that squad still there and look how they are playing now.

Both games were great for their own reasons but Man Utd game shades it for me.
