Not many on that list I’d take

possibly Morrison from Birmingham and jelly from reading that’s about it

I was going to say Browne but I suspect he`d be well out of our price range. Likewise Johnson and Bryson at Derby.

Not really no

mcgoldrick is a poor mans fammy and coming up to 32 so may well start to decline

Cantwell is 21 and will cost us a fair whack and I can’t see Norwich wanting him to go

Alan Browne possibly but I’ve not really seen much of him

McGoldrick could be a good signing I agree.

Fraizer Campbell possibly on a short term deal providing the wages weren't stupid, but I'm sure I read a while back that he had been out for a while with a serious injury...

Mark Bunn was supposedly in talks with us before going to Villa, but to be honest a lot would depend on our goalkeeper situation, and who stays between FF and NM.

Rodwell is a surprising one for me, has he just gone completely off the boil? Must admit I haven't really heard much of him for ages, but imagine he would be on big wages.

A lot of names there, but then there are also a few names with previous top level experience there, some of which I think will have to significantly lower their wage expectations....

I'd have a fair few there.

Morrison, Powell, Van Der Hoorn, Olsson, Fer, Hooper, Lee, Basham, Kelly, Browne, Pinto, Klose, Marshall, Mikel, Bryson, Vela etc...

I'm not sure how accurate that list is though as Huddlestone is on it and I know for a fact he isn't OOC this summer.

Josh Vela (CM)

Wasn't this lad supposed to be an up and coming star of the Championship once?

Despite the fact age is creeping up on them, there are quite a few quality players there.  A good, hard-working manager could pick a pool of 22-24 players from that list and build a team with enough talent / determination to win the league!

Possibly for me the only two that I would be interested in are Josh McEchran & Nick Powell. Both fit into our recruitment policy it would seem. COYR

Regardless of talent...we will not buy unless the players DNA fits with the club's ethos.

Mark Ashton did a lengthy interview about this last season...saying that it was just as important for us as to the players talent.

This is very evident in our present squad and the complete harmony and willingness to work for one another.

You can see the DNA of our squad now.

So for all the talent... you'd have to go forensic to know whether a player would fit here imo.

Holden said something in the pre-Boro interview about "there's finally a culture of players looking to see where they made mistakes in a game win lose or draw" (not exact wording, but you get the jist of the message).

I wonder if that is in some regard part of what Johnson means when he talks about "players he can trust".

If we lost Kalas, i.e. couldn't resign him- we could do worse wages notwithstanding than looking at Van der Hoorn.

PL and European experience, technically sound- good player in a transitional side. Only 26 too.

Is there a league one list ?

Hope we sign that other side in Bristol's best available free transfer, then sell him at a profit to one of their rivals a few weeks later!

Would be some great shithousing...

Really surprised Browne is out of contract, I thought he was one of Preston's best players.

Also surprising, Basham at Sheff U and Harper at WBA.

From a PNE fan on another forum...

'Alan Browne is contracted till 2021.
Think we also have an option on Michael Howard.

Ours are: Ben Pringle, Tommy Spurr, Andy Boyle & Marnick Vermijl, all 4 are deadwood. Bye'.

Get that keeper from 'Boro.

Sell a few shirts with his name on the back, at a couple of quid a letter if we sell half a dozen of 'em, we could be FFP compliant for the next 12 months. Might even turn a profit.

There aren’t loads on that list that jump out at you in terms of “if we could get them, would be a fantastic free transfer’.

Most Of you students have already picked the ones I would, e.g. Van der Horn, Alan Browne (If he really is a free), Either Of the Olsson’s, etc.

Would any of the Brentford ones be worth a look?

All in their 20's and from a footballing side- injury history notwithstanding Obudjabo could be worth a look at RB, were Pisano to leave. Younger and maybe a bit cheaper too.

Seem to recall McEachran was fairly highly thought of at one stage- or has he now stalled?

Only name on that list that catches my eye is Kelly at Reading.

Wasn't he with us a while back?

McEachran has had a few bad injuries and never lived up to the hype, I think he’ll get a L1 club like Charlton or Coventry.

I get the point Rob but I wouldn't wanted an ex-Monkey Hanger in goal. I can't stand them

Jonas Olsson is 36 years old now Dave - if we can go for the oldies, I’d take Hutton and Hoolahan....

People saying they wouldn't be interested in players like Browne, Basham, Olsson etc can't watch much football other than Bristol City.

Which Olsson?

Martin, the Swansea Swedish international that has had several good years in the top flight and is still only 30 and plays in a position that we need to sign a player in.

Browne, Kelly, Gregory, Powell, Andre Green (or is he more hype?) all could be interesting.

Suspect would be influenced by whether we want Dasilva still, both won't come here on the chance of being #2

Yep, he looks like he should have been the guitar player in a Nordic thrash-metal band.....

Some of you wouldn’t take the 24 year old central midfielder with 11 goals this season on a free transfer?

Alan Browne is a serious talent. Don’t think he is actually out of contract(as touched on above) but a player I’d love to have here

Maybe Henderson might be worth a shot.

Maenpaa, Henderson and O'Leary would be a good keeper line-up.

Although I still think the NZ keeper might come good if he plays again.
