On his own from the Grandstand "Give me a Beeeee"

The Eastend "Beeeeee"

Could hear him all around the ground, great times.

In the vid I posted, you can hear someone echoing TH's "Come on you Reds". That was, I think, a guy we only ever knew as 'Jack' who regularly stood a few rows behind me at the back of the enclosure, by the wall of the Grandstand. He had a voice which would strip wallpaper and was used frequently to berate referees and in particular, Keith Fear!

Another character I remember from those days stood in the Open End - a big muscled guy I knew as 'Mervyn'. He was a lovely, funny guy but I would never have wanted to cross him! You wouldn't phone a hotline to complain about him, that's for sure!

Such characters seem to have disappeared from today's more sanitised football crowd.

We offered similar a few years back, and at a similar price.

During the season ?

They've decided that if they do it during the season, they may find someone who is better than the crap they currently pay, sign him for free, offer a smaller wage, and as they'll be unattached, can go straight into the first team.

Clever really...

Are you guessing, or do you have some knowledge, Beet ?

Hope I'm wrong but as he hasn't been seen (or HEARD,) in an eternity I fear the worst.

Even the Harlingshire contingent haven't spotted him.

Plenty of us left in Hanham :)

Then you must be in disguise! The last time I saw or heard anything from them, was a couple of pissed up middle aged blokes in The Swan down Conham.

I like most of your posts, but your not “bigging” up your support again? Next time I am out for a pint, I will check outside, to see how many have been locked out!?

Let's be honest, if you were a rovers fan you'd be trying to hide it as well as you could...
