Bristol Rovers Dustbin Thread

He is lovely mind.

We all know that Hani holds the purse strings and detests football and has refused to spend any more money on the Sags.

However, Wally is such a nice bloke who genuinely loves Chelsea and who clearly has an interest in football and who has zero money to spend on the Sags, but who has carte blanche to go and stand on the terraces to offer reassuring cuddles and smiles to the desperately insecure terrace lepers.

How nice is that?

Where else can you find someone with absolutely no influence when it comes to club spending prepared to stand alongside regular ginger fans in the tents, flash his watch occasionally and celebrate the odd goal like he actually gives a shit?

What a top bloke.

He can take my wife and my kids if he wants.

You do him a disservice. I’m sure that’s not intentionally aimed at him. How could it be, being such a lush bloke..?!

However, before his arrival, the lemmings on the Blackthorn terrace used to gaze out over a ploughed field of a “pitch” inhabited by below par, cheap/past it players, bar the odd exception. That pitch was surrounded by tents (multiple) and a couple of the oddest looking stands in the football league and a few areas of crumbling terracing.

Now...! Now they have “championship ready” sprinklers, just to ensure that their ploughed field can also be water logged (because proper drainage was too expensive) they have provided 2 square ft of the finest canopy shelter that money can buy, so the players can stay dry when they pop out for a post match fag. They have a disabled enclosure, which if any more luxurious, would easily be confused with one of Dubai’s 7* hotels. The carpets and curtains are positively gleeming, thanks the their steam clean and their new state of the art training facilities have been cleverly designed to recreate an accurate “first team experience”

You make it sound like he’s failed to make an impact and that’s not to mention the fact that they’ve now got a physio. A real one, all of their own! I think it’s fair to say that they are Championship in all but name - and that won’t be long in coming.

Their ambition is a real threat to us. Mock them at your peril..!

What I can't get is that Wally keeps promising things and nothing happens and now he talks about plans that he says he cannot even talk about.  You would think that they would realise by now if any of them had half a brain cell.

Most of us recognise bullshit after a while

You’ve answered your own question there..!

because there will be clauses in the contract including wage increase, renumeration etc - so if you want you % increase each year, or a larger win bonus, position bonus for the next 2-3 years you sign the contract. You get offered extensions if your doing well, you get as much as you can whilst your stock is high. But in those contracts will be clauses on what happens if either party wishes to part ways, that is what the club will give the manager if they bin him, or compensation that your next club pay your current if they poach you.

back to the original point then,a 5 year contract is better for the manager than a 1 year deal and better for the club if another club want the manager but more expensive if they want to sack him.

Depends how the contract is written. Some are more watertight than others.

Nobody is as nice as good old Wally.

To be fair to Rudolph, he didn't say he was "AS nice", just that he was "nice". I am sure even he wouldn't make such an outrageous claim.   :shifty:

I'm ashamed but I have to admit to something that I have in common both with Wally and Bristol Rovers Football Club ...

I've never built a stand.

Forget Darrell Clarkes contract the main focus is  all on what a lovely bloke Wally is.

Over on Asschat Henbury Gas has even managed to dribble a bit of juice usually only available for re-runs of that Rickie Lambert goal or the Windass wonder goal.

The levels of enthusiasm and excitement over absolutely nothing concrete about anything goes beyond delusional.

It is mind blowing to see how over the top they are when all they have been fed is the same old shite that was brought up 3 or 4 months ago.

Don't they even think to question anything? How top secret is all this behind the scenes stuff at Prowed Park FFS? It's hardly in the interests of National Security or anything like that?!

How come no other clubs adopt this secretive cloak and dagger approach? There must be something in the water in Kingswood for that lot to act like they have brains like goldfish.

So, they've been looking at Project Managers for redeveloping the Mem. Well they should stop staring and bloody employ some of them!

They have bought a piece of ground with some old goalmouths on it and have had a war over building a fence - apart from that sweet FA.

Darrell got the players he wanted - obviously within the Poundland budget, so where has the BB money gone??????

What a bunch of lemmings!

Oh, but how nice is Wally? Lovely bloke! Dear oh dear oh dear.

Oi I’m from kingswood and it’s easily 50/50 round here. You’re right mind they’re thick as **** when chatting to them. The levels of delusion is unbelievable

And those who talk about the 45,000 whatever.  Remember the ground up in Whorefield is always 95% full.

Just in case you actually believed the bollocks you were spouting Jarman.

I think you’ve been hanging around with lying Gasheads too long...

Which gashead's form are they referring to exactly?

Application form of course, they have a choice of two.

1. Application to develop a new training facility at "the colonies". They've employed the people who can fill in the application, they just haven't given them the information, "it takes a long time".

2. Application to redevelop the rugby ground, stand by stand. They have no design ideas yet, as, "it takes a long time".

They`re also waiting for Hani to countersign the requisition form for a pen. He`s not sure if the club can afford that kind of outlay in the present financial climate.

Or how far you're punching above your weight mate.  Personality does go a long way eh! ;)

Wally is a thoroughly lovely bloke though.

Just goes to show how far 12 inches of personality will go....haha.

Looks like the lovely lovely Wally possesses the same qualities.

He is such a lovely bloke mind. Did you know that the club can't go into detail about things that are happening behind the scenes for top secret reasons and all will become clearer sometime in the future but obviously as you know these things take time, but the way Wally delivers these words is just so lovely. Fans can simply forget all their troubles when the Messiah speaks. My god he is lovely, so lovely. What a lovely bloke!
