Bristol Rovers Dustbin Thread

Recommended Posts

I don't think so, I think it would be the beginning of the end for their fans. Some of them might traipse up there for a season or so, especially those who live north of Bristol already, but eventually they would look for something closer to home, especially if Premier League football was on offer.

I don't disagree (except that you're not going to get existing Rovers fans coming to watch City, that will instead be the new generation of fans)  but I also don't think that's incompatible with what I've said.

Vince buys Rovers for a song without a ground, merges the teams, satrts playing in Blue and Green, and moves closer to Bristol.

If the merged team starts getting 5,000 that's doubled the crowds and given them a good base from which to grow.

Projections being based on two thirds of BRFC current  season ticket holders and half of pay on the day attendees making the switch.

Talks renewed about merger with Forest Green Rovers and relocation to Gloucestershire.

It would be easy to move Santa’s Grotto, but could the Championship ready sprinklers be moved to Nailsworth?

Forest Green seem a well run outfit, why would they want to get involved with that rabble #Vegan

To become overnight, every football fan's favourite other team?

FGs new ground is targeted to be next door to the mahoosive recycling centre which dominates the skyline at M5J13. That would seem to fit the identity of the 15ers on many levels.

Please no.

I was hoping they'd relocate somewhere a little further away.

Christ Rovers are awful, at least when we won the league with 99 points & done the double we had a strong Preston, Sheffield United etc to compete against.

Rovers lucky as ever, miles onside goal conceded, given offside.

Their keeper can't catch a cold.

" Well from watching this you can definitely tell one of the teams is two leagues above the other.

Only thing is it’s Bromley who look the League 1 team. "

I just want to take this opportunity to point out that Gasheads never get on their players backs. Nothing but 100% support every time...that’s why everyone loves them and hates ‘da shit’.

The kind of person who brings flares to a ground in the first place.

Somebody who is even dimmer than the floodlights at Bromley.

For a minute I thought there were just a few people shining some torches

Gas win but god they are absolutely awful, I pray they beat Plymouth & we get them in the third round.

I don`t. If we think we`ve got injury issues now wait until we`ve played that ******* lot.

Nothing to be gained by us playing them, they will probably lose to Plymouth anyway, hope Plymouth batter them !

They’ll be dreaming about a cup final...which for them would be drawing Plymouth in the 2nd round.

Corrected for you.

240 eh?

The Leeds Utd of L1 once again shock everyone with their huge travelling army that follow them everywhere.

I didn’t watch it but I can only assume that all talk after the game is how lucky Bromley are to be the latest National League club to find themselves financially secure for another year thanks to the Gas....

Mostly it was yeah but there was also a fair bit about how the Bromley fans loved them to bits and were sooooooo glad they got to play them and not da shit.

Christ Rovers are awful ...

I remember the old triv question which, surprisingly, seemed to catch a few out: “Name the four clubs called ‘Rovers’ in the top four divisions...”

Tranmere, Doncaster, Blackburn and Bristol caught out a few back then, but now we’ve got Forest Green and Christ to add to the list ...
