Exactly.

Has he gone to Ireland for sure, or just 2+2?

Who knows? I reckon he will not find a better opportunity to further his career than joining us though.

Good luck to him either way though.

He's good, but he's not keeping Willian out the team is he. Can see it happening once FLCFC have had chance to cast their eye over him or discuss him, whether that happens in Ireland or not

People talk about the Chelsea embargo like they've lost all of their players as well, FL will no doubt use the younger players at his disposal but given KP couldn't command a starting position here last year is he really going to be playing at Chelsea over the likes of Loftus-Cheek, Barkley, Kante, Kovacic, Jorginho, Willian, Pedro etc, he will also likely be behind the likes of Mount, Musonda and Piazon of last seasons returning loan army and is now 22 years old so needs to get on with his career.

I hope he signs for a reasonable fee and nails down a starting position here through his performances as we could have a hell of a player on our hands if he does.

Until we find evidence that he’s in Dublin, I’m still fully confident that he’s being fired out of a cannon from the top of Nelson Mandela house before rappelling down B&M Bargains in the new purple and lime third kit this evening.

I hope you're right BS86.

I still find it very bizarre that Section 82 would do that if there wasn’t something happening.

Maybe he's gone to Dublin to play one last game for Chelsea and say goodbye to the fans? We've already taken photos of him with a scarf and everything

I think he's right to give another go at Chelsea, whole new era now with Frank and the transfer ban, unless they've already told him he's never going to be part of their plans etc

I encourage everyone to google the ‘Kubler Ross model’.

It’s basically the 5 stages of grief. It reflects almost every transfer thread on OTIB, without the cringe inducing desperation.

Let me just say that, whilst I have absolutely no idea whatsoever as to whether or not @The hand of RO'D is telling the truth on this occasion, I do seem to recall that, some time prior to it being announced officially, he predicted correctly that Joe Morrell was going out on loan - also that this was to Lincoln....

Could be that Section 82 were just trying to make him feel the love as was the case with Jay and Tomaś.

Confirmed on the Chelsea website that the squad list includes Kasey.

Can't see us waiting for him if he isn't committed to us now. He may live to regret it.

A defensive midfielder and a striker have to be higher priorities anyway.

That’s a shame.

Although is probably rules out any thoughts I had that we might not go for a true striker, and try to convert Palmer and / or Szmodics into a 9 1/2.

Really interested to see what happens with Fam now.

He's signing today

Are we meeting him in Dublin or is he just flying out there to boost his RyanAir miles and then coming back to Bristol?

Depends which of the 2 companies representing him get their way:

If he was flying to and back from Newcastle we could have put him on touch with an expert.

Perhaps he thinks it’s a good idea to be mentored by one of the country’s best ever goal-scoring midfielders? Personally, I think that Frank will have bigger fish to fry and that staying at Chelsea will stall KPs footballing career. Time will tell but I think not coming here will be his loss in the long term.

Onwards and upwards.

Yes, I read that.  French social media seems to be more trustworthy than our own.

Probably rather naive on my part and how football works.

I just can’t wrap my head around how a players agent or consulting group as it was worded etc is able to tout the player and try make him available for transfer without any such permission of the player. Doesn’t seem possible.

My point therefore with such reports coming out, maybe that he wants that improved contract and if that doesn’t happen he could want to leave.

Sincere apologies guys but it seems I was fed a bowl of bullshit on regards to the KP transfer.

The same source as the Morrell rumour which I posted in May told me this was a done deal. Unsure why the BS this time round but perhaps they weren't too happy about me posting it on here. God knows.

Anyway I can only apologise to anyone who had their hopes up due to my posts and I'll make sure I'm a bit more wary in the future.

I suspect Fam is fully aware.  Might just be testing the water as you say, and then look for a new contract here.

My post was in jest. Thanks for sharing and it did seem like a few different people were behind it without any media sources really reporting it.

This is an odd one because, while I like Kasey as a player and warmed to him when he was with us, it just wouldn’t really have made sense bringing him back.

Good luck to him, though.

Imo it means little. The squad that has gone has about 10 players no one has ever heard of. Kalas went on pre season tour with Chelsea and still left. If anything will likely confirm he isn’t wanted. FL would’ve known about him for years and didn’t try to sign him for Derby which is a sign...

Not sure we need Palmer. We have Walsh who has shown us what he can do when fit , Korey to come back plus the two new guys. So would Palmer get game time I am not sure 🤔. LJ also showed caution when he was here last season. Will interesting but he could be in Frank Lampard’s Chelsea plans watch that space not ours

I am glad we are not bringing him back. LJ likes players that work hard. Lets stick with bringing in those type of players. Apparently Rowe and Szmodics have very high work rate.

Lampard wAnts to look at all his players. Palmer has a contract with Chelsea...he is told you are coming with the squad so I (Lampard) can  see if I want you.

Nothing else to see here for now. If Lampard likes him he stays or goes on loan. If he doesn’t he will be sold.

The problem for us is wait or find a similar player in case he is wanted at Chelsea. Either way discussions would be on going.

No worries champ. You were clearly told something you shared in good faith and suspect things have changed last minute due to Lamps. These things happen

He's got about as much chance of being in Lampard's plans as Kalas has.
