I'd never heard of the bloke but according to Wiki he's had some strong links to the club during one of our most successful periods.

Saw that but personal anecdotes are more interesting to read

I hate to say the name means nothing to me.

Can someone give a bit of background to who he is please?

I bought this and it’s worth the read:-

It was only in recent years  I realised that he was "a person of colour" . I just remember him as being a bit "swarthy", or well tanned   (no PC remarks please, I an genuine in this ).

@slartibartfast totally agree with you, papers were still black & white and you rarely saw the manager, or coach, as they were always sat in the dugout (not the nightclub in Park Row!)

Tony, and John Sillett, were the unsung heroes of the golden period under Alan Dicks. Neither has ever received the credit they deserve imo.

He had a remarkable career, working with Revie, Clough and Ferguson. And cost us the chance to sign Kevin Keegan! ?

I think you will be ok, I am busy sorting out which biscuits to bring in for everyone tonight ???

Blimey Julie, that is going beyond the call of duty, bringing biscuits for 20000 fans is an incredible gesture ? my personal favourite is a hobnob so I'll gratefully accept one or two from you ?
