I thinks it's one of the worst things a manager can do, shoehorn players into any old position just to get them in the team. How many times have you heard "he can do a job there"? I don't want that, I want a player, who is very good in a role, to play that role. TBF, hard to put players into a certain position when you don't know what system you want to play, or what your best team is. Maenpaa is the definition of an unfussy, non showy goalkeeper, which is exactly what we need. These are just more things that confirm LJ not only clueless, but an awful man manager. Benik had a great start to the season and was easily our best striker, had an awful injury. He works his nuts off to get back to fitness and what does LJ do, stick him out wide left. Like the pro that he appears to be, he battles away in an unfamiliar position and was probably our best player on the pitch. What must be going on in LJ’s head to think it was a good idea to then hook him and end up with putting Fammy where Benik should have started the match. Apparently Lee had seen him play there when he was younger!? Even more frustrating when we had at least 2 players on the bench that can play wide, as well as Callum O’Dolittle.
