I would have thought it was important for Manning. Can he follow up a good performance with another one and begin to show if he has what it takes to manage a club in the championship. If not it is further evidence of the fact he was a very poor choice. So for him a lot to play for and it would surely be good for the players as well.

When you see what has happened to Grealish and Phillips as players it makes you wonder if it is always the best club to sign for. Although winning loads of trophies they have both declined as players.

Then you feel sorry for me then. So often English people are dissuaded from flying the flag of St George as it implies we are right wing fanatics or so the media would have you believe.
