Bainsey Posted July 12, 2020 Report Share Posted July 12, 2020 If we were not still somehow in contention for a play-off place I would definitely be cheering on Swansea today and hoping Leeds slip up again, potentially allowing Brentford to overtake them for promotion. However a Swansea win today moves them 5 points clear of us with a much better GD, so 6 points clear realistically with 3 to play. To keep our (*very faint*) play-off hopes alive, we need to hope for a Leeds win today.A draw would not be the worst however as we still have Swansea to play. In fairness, only 1 of LJ's recent bad run were against a team not in the top half (Huddersfield) It was a fairly tough run of games, not helped by our performances, granted, but beating 2 relegation contenders may well have happened either way - although the Boro win was far more impressive than anything we've seen recently.
