Lets all remember that whatever the result, its only a game of football.  Put that into perspective with whats happening around us. Having said that both teams start with eleven players and their eleven, just like our eleven, are championship players, not world cup winners. Yes they are favourites on paper, but the game is not played on paper. Its up to our team to show that they are good enough for the play offs. No better place to do that than on Sky at Brentford. Everyone is expecting a goal fest, so lets give them one. 3-1 City for me.

I'm sure the team are really glad of the positive support that OTIB is generating before this game. Here's hoping that their mindset is completely different to ours and its a 0-3 win

I’m sure the team don’t give a flying **** what anyone on OTIB says and if they go into this game with the mindset from the previous on the back foot displays we could be in for a tonking!

We've looked a really poor team recently, Brentford far from it.

We could suddenly find some real purpose and cohesion; Brentford might have an off night.

All things being equal though I really can't see beyond a heavy defeat tonight.

I do think we'll score though - 5-1 Brentford. :(

I fear the worst but hope for the best.   If we can sneak a couple of goals in the first few minutes, we might just be able to get 11 men behind the ball and hang on for dear life ...  and if Bentz takes his krypton before the game like a good boy we might not concede too many.

No question to ask how many goals City will score?

I am interested why there is this fear we are going to get a real thumping tonight. Surely not basing this on the fact that an awful Wycombe side gave up against them at the weekend?

I'm surprised so few people noticed that Wycombe actually scored twice agains them

I can only think of the  Swansea drubbing in all the years that I have been watching, and we are nowhere near as bad a side as that

Don't be surprised to see us get something tonight

Basically because they’re much better than us in every department.

Our stats are awful. We generally play badly on the eye too and if we win are often quite fortunate. We have an unbalanced squad and loads of injuries and a manager that many fans don’t have faith in. We also have the gaping weakness on our left side.

Sure, in this league any team is capable of pulling off a result - but if there was ever a game it would be likely for us to lose then it’s this one.

TBF I suspect West Brom were pretty worried playing Liverpool after they hit 7 at Crystal Palace. West Brom left Anfield with a point, no reason we can't do the same tonight (Leave Brentford...not Anfield with a point).

I think City can get a draw, at least, for similar reasons. I’m always confident playing a team after they’ve had a goal fest using the logic that it can’t happen in two successive games. Brentford have used up all their luck in one match and tonight the lucky breaks will go City’s way. I admit this is a dodgy logic with City and it usually  doesn’t work, but there is the first time for everything

Anything can happen.

  • International betting syndicate's agent phones the ref before kick-off.
  • Brentford's star player injured during warm-up.
  • Early red card for Brentford player.
  • Early injury for Brentford player or better stil, more than one of them.
  • Pig flies over Brentford Stadium.

Just any one of these may not be enough. To win, we probably need all of them to happen.

For proof that anything is possible, just remember ....

The Blades beat Man Utd

and

little old Accrington Stanley (Accrington who?) beat  trounched the mighty Bristol Rovers !

I’d be happy with a 2 nill or less defeat tonight.

Not only are they a bogey team they are a much better outfit than us both on and off the pitch, i fully expect them to go up auto this season.

Brentford are a good example of a tinpot club who have progressed year in year out with the right off field appointments, in comparison to us who have stagnated and actually  gone backwards in the last 3 years.

If we play 442 we might as well hand Brentford the points now. 532 and we might be able to nick something!

5 5 3 and we have half a chance.

I agree with you,its a massive achievement for us to go 18 unbeaten especially as unpredictable this season has been.Law of averages not only will we lose but when it’s not expected like tonight.

I would call you a bloody pessimist but I suspect that you do not understand the meaning of pessimist.

If you don't slaughter us tonight, you don't deserve to go up.
