TBF I've looked at the games remaining and can see us conservatively getting 15-18 points at least.  Never nailed obviously but think we should be fine this season.  But avoiding relegation wasnt the aim was it.  We sacked our last manager (rightly imo) for not hitting top 6.

I wouldn’t fancy starting next season as we are under the current regime

The problem is we're so slow to make changes. There's research and analysis - think I read it in Simon Kuper's Soccernomics but I forget if he did the actual study or someone else - that shows that teams that are losing that make changes by 55 minutes are far more likely to get a result than teams that wait any longer than that. It's rare that we make changes before it is too late to influence a game.

When you've got one shot on target at home against a substitute golalkeeper, you really need to be in the 5% of games that make a change at half time.

I understand what you're saying LB, but the reality is that in the vast, vast majority of games (certainly pre covid, of course things will be different with the extra subs allowed), subs made at half time were almost exclusively because of an injury, whether match ending or just precautionary measures.

There of course are times where it does happen, but they are maybe 1 time in 10.

So to then extrapolate that Holden is happy with the performance because no subs were made at half time is like me saying that because I rolled a 1 on a die, I will always roll a 1.

Its rapidly turning me off, I might become a more general football fan when crowds return and go around the country visiting different clubs

I can’t help but feel this whole season is pointless. It’s odd - being so distanced from it I can almost see it how a non-sports fan sees it, just blokes kicking a ball around - who cares.

It’s not really what football is about is it. I feel for Holden (to a small extent) because the football IS crap but also everything just looks so lifeless with no fans.
