A player, substitute or substituted player who commits any of the following offences is sent off:

  • denying the opposing team a goal or an obvious goal-scoring opportunity by a handball offence

My annoyance is more with the rule really, deflection from thigh onto hand and not deliberate make it incredibly harsh, should have to be a deliberate hand ball to be red as the penalty is a big advantage from an unintentional action

The game isn’t played in slow motion - everything looks worse. The ball was pinged at him at 60mph, his arm is attached to his body, where is it supposed to go

It doesn't matter. He stopped a goal with his hand while moving it towards the ball.  It's about as straight forward of a decision I've ever seen with VAR tbh.

Shame - we had been solid first half.

Unfortunately as usual though - the opposition find another gear when we simply can't.

20 minutes of hanging on I imagine.

I think we really need to introduce a completely new front line..........there is NO pace.........it is so laborious?

That's one of the most obvious red cards you can get, can't believe some are saying it shouldn't be.

I dislike the way VAR is used a lot of the time but you have to admit it's resulted in the correct decision.

If that was the other way around and it wasn't spotted we'd be absolutely fuming.

I can! Have you got a better replay angle than me? From that angle I couldn't tell.
