Didn't our redevelopment only cost 40/50 million? Why would theirs be that expensive?

they need to do a bigger development then we did in a tighter bit of space then us, the cost of construction materials post brexit to deal with as well,

anyway this isn't the worst of the news apparently due to come out, there's rumours of bills not being paid since march with solicitors letters being sent (separate from the ground thing)

BR15FC.....30 years of talking about their new ground in NeverNeverLand. Mangotsfield, Severnside, UWE, Avonmouth 1987-2017 RIP. Long may the thousands continue to be locked out. No wonder they obsess about away attendances. They'll be playing away permanently at this rate!

no they won't they have no cash, redeveloping the mem will cost upwards 90 million +

I know we all like to laugh but that's nonsense mate. They own the land, and the rebuild wouldn't be as complex as ours was. The Millenium Stadium cost £120m, albeit a few years back now.

This is more comparable to Rotherham's ground, which cost £20m.

Wouldn't ever get allowed

That area really is the capital of tree huggers

Probably a banner already gone up today

Not only that, the "tent end" is cheek by jowl to the street behind, that would have to be the thinnest stand ever.

The home end (no idea what it is called) is also pretty cramped to the houses on whatever the road there is ? Filton Ave?

Only on the sides is there really sufficient room to expand.

I would not describe you as crap. Just a tomorrow club. Tomorrow we will do this, tomorrow we will do that. Tomorrow we will have our Stadium, tomorrow we will sign someone of note.  You even state above, that your owner will change things in the 'near future' ie tomorrow. Problem is tomorrow never comes and you sad w*nkers swallow it season up on season.

On recent events..... I Rest MY Case!

The side stand with the so called boxes is probably the most cramped out of any of the others, there really is no room behind it.

Plan B? just identifying a feasible parcel of land in around Bristol will be a task in itself, some of the previous suggestions like Avonmouth or Cribbs have seen projects swallow up the larger areas available. The ability to improve the mem is limited to say the least, no hotel, no conference facilities, certainly nothing to rival Ashton Gate which has, according to business contacts I know, become the first choice in the Bristol area. No income means Wally pulling out I believe.

Except liverpool and everton both have a fantastic history of winning league titles,fa cups and european competition but city and rovers have never in all there history won anything of note.

Both clubs fans live off of minor achievements and happy memories of various  minor league promotions and players we loved etc.

The brutal truth is both clubs have mostly been utter rubbish.

city had a good period 1905-10 and a cup final  1909 and a 5 year spell in the top division in the 70"s  and thats it

Rovers came 5th in what is now the championship in the 50"s and a hard working team that briefly held its own in the championship under gerry francis in 1991

So from a neutrals point of view its a crap club v a crappier club

Perhaps that explains the massive thread?  the only measure of city success is that they are historically the crap club not the crappier club.?

Luckily our new owner is going to change that in the near future.

Oh ah? How's that working out for you!!

But all joking aside, and in the spirit of Bristolian camaraderie, I've done a bit of research to help you overcome this latest setback...

Because ours was a semi decent ground before work started. Even with parts of the ground knocked down, it was still better than their pit.

They have a lot of work to do to get it up to the standard of the old Ashton Gate, let alone anything else.

Rovers relegated to conference. Fans say best thing ever happened to us . Loved going to all those different grounds. BULLSHIT.

Rovers scrap stadium. Fans say . Soulless bowl . Crap location. Wally doing the right thing. BULLSHIT.

They will literally swallow any old shit . Can't wait for the next episode. Comedy gold

Exactly this, they are so full of shit it's unreal.

What I heard was that Wally Al Qaeda doesn't want to rent the land the stadium is built on and so wants to buy the land for £2m (the alleged value, but this is likely using #GasLogic) and the UWE are asking £10m, which the slags are refusing to pay.

I would half expect this "withdraw" to be part of the bargaining process to rob someone else of their land for a fraction of its worth.  It's not like they haven't got form for this already, is it?!?

Corrected for you.
