Yeah it was the wind coming off the Pennines that made it so cold. Brutally cold day.. but we won 3-0 so happy days. 1 Quote Link to comment
GrahamC
Absolute shit hole & has some of the most deprived parts of England. Voted Tory in the mistaken belief that they are remotely interested. Been a few times but struggle to remember any of them, mainly in the Cooper era so a long time ago. They have surprised me & so I’d take another draw, think we’ll go unchanged & with 3 games in a week make changes on Wednesday. 4 Quote Link to comment
Tafkarmlf
Ooft, would be going to day, but my shoulder is pants and I'm in agony, my fault for going out again last night. For those arriving at Blackpool North Yorkshire Fisheries is the best Chippy and is kinda on the way to the ground or The Manchester if you're going for pre match drinks. Ive been Blackpool for games several times including a freezing cold mid 90s away effort, a Luke Wilkshire inspired draw and us getting absolutely battered. Spent a year and a bit working in Blackpool a few years ago and still have strong links to a number of communities. I know at least 5 Blackpool fans including an infamous one and am no doubt going to get pelters off them if we lose. For those staying over or wanting to mooch around The Regent Cinema is well worth the look http://theregentblackpool.co.uk/ Shame Ska Face arent playing til next week, https://skaface.info/ska-face-gigs/ they're the Blackpool FC equivalent of the Wurzels for die hards and have a cracking gig. For those wanting to relive they're Weston Youth, and presuming we both stay up, then Arcade Club will be open next time out and that's gunna be right next the ground. https://www.arcadeclub.co.uk/blackpool/ 1 Quote Link to comment

mozo
Been there for a game in January I think just as they started the ground redevelopment. I just remember it being one of the coldest, windiest football experiences of my life. Layer up! Quote Link to comment
JBFC II
Nearly there now, expecting a wet, cold and windy experience. But then, having been to Holker Street 6 weeks back I feel prepared! Feel positive about getting a result, we've looked much better as of late so hopefully can continue that through to today Edited February 5 by JBFC II 2 Quote Link to comment
cityloyal473
Been there twice - first time the game was called off (early late 90s/early 2000s?), second time it was cold, wet and we drew. Quote Link to comment

Southport Red
After a very contentious last minute penalty (which we missed, thus restoring justice) a Blackpool fan tried to kill my daughter and I in a retail park car park. We were walking back to our car in our City shirts, a car with four tangerine shirted lads accelerated hard at us, I just about managed to push my daughter out of the way, they at no time went for their brakes. Nice people. can see Blackpool from Southport, there used to be a ten minute hovercraft ride (although it wouldn’t have run today), as it is it’s an hour’s drive as you have to drive around the river ribble(like driving both sides of a letter ‘V’. setting off now. pl00peh91
2-3 wins would guarantee safety this season in my book, in view of the points deductions and how terrible Barnsley and Peterborough are. I however would hope based in recent performances that we should have loftier ambitions than just survival, and I see no reason why we shouldn’t look to finish between 8th and 10th. Andreas Weimann is their most dangerous player. Creates and scores goals.Need to keep him quiet. Tough game this 2-2 We’ll need volunteers to guard our statues. Quote Link to comment

The 5-1 always sticks in the mind but another Jan fixture maybe in 2000s where the wind off the Irish Sea and being in a uncovered side of the ground was brutally cold. I think only Oldham was a place that I felt colder the year we went up under GJ Yeah, that was truly Arctic. I ended up buying some gloves from the Oldham club shop 1 Quote Link to comment

sh1t_ref_again
Went at a guess 15 years ago when the terracing was scaffolding. Made it a weekend with our friends and took the kids. Could not believe how difficult it was to find somewhere to eat on the evening as everywhere was set up for stags and hens. We ended up on a pier and had the DJ take the piss alnight about how posh we were because the ladies were drinking wine. Quote Link to comment

billywedlock
Wow Blackpool have stands now. Last time I went it was to stand on an open and very wild wintery terrace. It was freezing . Must have been 30 years ago. Quote Link to comment
