Well there are your options, its now up to you to make your mind/s up.

What about driving to Lechlade and taking a canal boat up the Thames to Marlow and catching the bus from there?

All joking aside, the train may NOT be an option.

Coming back there's a 22.14 High Wycombe- Marylebone arriving 10.45, then Paddington 11.32 arriving Bristol  TM 01.15.

After that; HW 23.33 - Maryb 00.19, then Paddington 05.23 - Temple Meads 06.57

You could walk from Marylebone to Paddington three times over in 47 minutes.

DIRECT BUS FROM RAIL STATION

Wanderers have teamed up with Arriva and Chiltern Railways for a brand-new bus service direct to Adams Park from the High Wycombe rail station on home matchdays.

The service will run with one 70-seater vehicle departing the rail station (bay X3) at 12.45pm, 1.30pm and 2.15pm, heading direct to Adams Park with no stops. Fares are charged at £3.

Return journeys will run from 5.15pm and 6pm.

It is intended that the services will drop off and pick up outside the Adams Park gates, but it's likely that local traffic may require passengers to disembark at the Hillbottom Road roundabout to enable the bus to begin its return journey to the station for the next service.

No mention of whether it runs for midweek games.

Alternatively...

By train: High Wycombe is served by the Chiltern Railways line, connecting Birmingham to London Marylebone. The station is approximately 2.5 miles from the stadium, and you can either walk, head to the bus station and collect the 32 bus to the Hourglass pub and walk the rest, or travel via taxi.

There’s a 2250 from High Wycombe that arrives at Marylebone at 2317 and it takes 5 minutes on the bakerloo line to Paddington

With that being said having had limited time last night to get to the rearranged Burton game I've started to use this:

https://www.recenttraintimes.co.uk

Great way to check average arrival time and reliability of services in recent weeks so you can factor in actual timings.

Is there app to download for that site. It looks usefull.

OOPs! A mixture of 24 hr clock and am / pm clocks.

My line 22.14 High Wycombe- Marylebone arriving 10.45, then Paddington 11.32 arriving Bristol  TM 01.15.

should read 22.14, 22.45, 23.32 & 01.15.
