  1. Good film, but it left me wondering if Syd realised he wasn’t anywhere near as talented as the others. His own songs were sh*t after all. Sadly he came across as yet another pretty boy more popular for his looks than his ability (ditto J.Morrison, M.Hutchence, etc.).
  2. It was said at the time that were reasons why Arsenal weren’t keen to keep him, from what I remember, and they weren’t to do with football.
  3. (St) Valentine’s Day …. David Bowie
  4. I remember something in the late 90s. Jer, Katherine, the cider-drinking squid, etc.
  5. How dare you take the name of the legendary Bas Savage in vain?! The man is a legend, nay a god.
  6. 75 years old and a three hour gig with no breaks. The man is amazing.
  7. Has there ever been a poorer quality World Championship final? Both players are playing poorly, but some of the shots Jones is missing are unbelievable. How on earth did this guy beat Trump and Bingham? All Wilson has to is wait for Jones to make yet another elementary mistake and clean up, but even that isn’t straightforward given how poorly Wilson is playing himself. And with that, Jones misses another simple one in the 29th frame…
  8. Why do you think that seriously toning down the brutality and horror of the extermination camps is a plus point? I appreciate that the truth is harrowing, but a soft focus version seems to serve no useful purpose.
  9. Anyone else crossing the bridge to see Springsteen today?
  10. Rodri? No, not that one, the one we had in 2019-20.
  11. 11th place finish. Not great, but if we can finish in the top half after an embarrassing shambles of a season then think what we could do if we were bang average…
  12. To be fair, Gary Johnson made him do it (not the headbutt, the interview).
  13. Murray Jones, promising striker signed from Palace in 1990. Never made an appearance.
  14. We didn’t spend a lot of money on him , but I was always bemused by the case of Jim Harvey, a very good midfield player who we signed in 1987 and who only played three times for us. I remember him saying at the time that he couldn’t understand why Terry Cooper signed him if he didn’t think he was any good. There was also the strange case of Laurie Pearson, a left back who we signed from Hull in the summer transfer window of 1987, and then swapped for Russell Bromage before the season even started.
  15. In France if there is a two-division or more gap between the clubs the lower team is automatically at home.
