Possibly I guess………….

Robbored started following Finishing School..... , The FA Cup 24/25 season , Mehmeti Watches The Bears? and 5 others

The return of Gary O’neil.

If Mehmeti watched the Bears on Friday evening when they were simply scintillating it clearly had a positive impact on his performance against the Pilgrims. I get that he was up against a piss poor Argyle defence but that doesn’t devalue his performance which was probably his best game in a City shirt.

I’ve know IG for a number of years thru the SC&T and had the misfortune of having having to listen to him bleating on about whatever was being discussed. The guy is never wrong about anything. I had numerous ‘debates’ with him (called himself TTO - the trusted one…….) usually about him slagging off Nige all of which was completely out of context. He was on here but now has a critical view of otib having spat his dummy out after rowing with another poster and that we’re all tossers……..…… and why he now uses Twitter as his megaphone.

A mate of is an Argyle supporter having been born and raised in Plymouth and was at AG with his son. I texted him at 0-0 at half time that City had no cutting edge and that I wouldn’t be surprised if Argyle hit us on the break and won 0-1. He texted back saying that his son had said the same. When City did eventually scored he texted and said ‘that’s the game over’………….

Scott and Barnard were the best two LBs that I’ve seen at City - both excellent. No surprise to see IG spreading his poison again……….…….

Exactly and he has chipped with goals as we saw today. However I feel he could be more influential if he could only learn when to play in a team mate. Many times he’s spurned opportunities by taking on one too many defenders and losing the ball or by not shooting when he has the opportunity and getting closed down - this is where Manning and his coaches can work with him on addressing this flaw in his game. If he can overcome his tendency to take too many touches I reckon City have a very decent Championship player on the books.
-
Absolutely he does and that leads to fans getting frustrated with him. Today up against a piss poor Plymouth he scored two goals one of which was very well taken but today is an exception but against better teams he still frustrates with trying to beat one two many. The coaches need to teach when to play in a team mate. I’ll give some slack today as he was after a hat trick but generally he overplays his quick feet. Absolutely he does and that leads to fans getting frustrated with him. Today up against a piss poor Plymouth he

One of the funniest chants I’ve heard at AG was when we played Carlisle on a miserable and wet Tuesday evening with about a dozen away fans all on their own and the chant when up “you must have come in a taxi, come in a taaaxi”

I reckon Manning try something different and liven up the strikers by starting Cornick or Fally as the lone striker. Wells and Armstrong on the bench.
-
Well…….he is head of recruitment and the summer window was so-so with midfield additions but the signing of Armstrong was a serious gamble which so far has backfired and has Fally started a game yet? ….
-
To para phrase Mandy Rice-Davies “they would say that wouldn’t they?” Anything to avoid embarrassment CR……..…….

If a manager get the boot the sacking club will have to pay up whatever is left on his contract. I read that GJ got £600k when he was sacked.
-
Difficult game to predict - City have a fairly decent record at Vicarage Rd and as others have suggested a draw looks most likely. However City’s away form is pretty good so you never know………

Reading this thread is deja vu. It makes no difference who the manager is the same discussions/debates are pretty much the same. A classic ‘collective subconscious’ as described by Carl Jung. I’ve commented several times that football fans are all the same. We all share the idealism of where we want our club to be. This thread confirms that view.
