Shots 18-10 on Target.

THE 'WALL

Possesion 53%

Shots 15-9 on Target

Having watched the 14 minutes of highlights, I still can't remember Basso having anything other than regulation saves to make.

I wouldn't mind betting that the majority of Millwall's shots came in the last 15 minutes. :whistle2:

Most of those shots on targets were lame long range efforts that went comfortably into the hands of Basso. I wouldnt read much into it.

... yes, and a regulation save (or a feeble lob into the keeper's midriff) would be a shot "on target" the way the folks who put these things together count them. For them, any shot heading towards any part of the goal frame is on target whereas, for me, the real target is any part of the goal the keeper/defenders can't reach ...

... you could argue that the only truly on target shots are those that result in goals ... and it is when you then look at the ratio of total shots to goals (attacking and defending) that you get a pretty good idea of a team's strengths and weaknesses, especially over the course of a season.

City vintage 2006/07 so far have been very efficient defensively (since McCombe got in the side) but much less impressive as an attacking force i) because of ineffectual loanees when Brooks & Show-me were out, and ii) because our midfielders don't find the net often enough. What I find most encouraging are recent post-match comments from GJ that suggest he is aware of the problem and will act accordingly if things don't improve.

With no goals in a combined 46 games from our four central midfielders, the time to act is now, not nigh!!
