  1. I genuinely struggle with this club these days.

Never really had any love since the departure of Cotts and couldn’t tolerate Lee Johnson to the extent I’d walked away from supporting this club in the stands

Pearson restored a lot of faith, he was the man we needed for years and has dragged a new level of professionalism to this club which was so needed after Mark Ashton….

today's decision just reaffirms my belief that this club doesn’t stand a chance with the Lansdowns at the helm.

Proud to have had him as our manager

  2. Felt only saw him a few days ago waiting for the Bus on Gilda Parade, always gave him a toot and got a wave back.

Top bloke, first met him in one of the 4 corner pubs at Brentford as a teenager no idea who he was, but what a lovely bloke

    10 years seems crazy

$2.5billion over 10 years, 250 per year compared to less than 100 now, seems a no brainer now, be interesting to see the value of that in 5-10 years

with that level of money coming into MLS will only feed the Messi rumours

While the debate over players wages goes on, this is the other side of the coin.

Sure it's replicated at quite a few clubs too. In the top two divisions there's not much excuse for those with most to continue to receive full whack while those lower get furloughed. I add this is a lot of, but not necessarily all clubs or cases.

Wonder what the situation at AG with this is. Seem to recall that @RedM deduced that the players had taken a cut/deferral/weren't on full whack.

Nice to see the solidarity. ?

Seen nothing to suggest what the players are doing either way.

non playing staff have been Furloughed and Lansdown is willing to take tax-payer money to cover the 80% of their wages, pretty disgusted with the club to be honest.

Liverpool FC now furloughing staff. Topping up the 20% of wages to ensure people arent left short.

    Thats nice of them!

(£42m profit and £533m turnover last year)

Are we doing exactly the same thing furlonging staff at Ashton gate whilst the all owner by a billionaire owner who lives in a tax haven?

not sure we should be throwing any stones whilst Lansdown is going to the government to pay his staff wages

  6. I agree.......its always good to get a touch of the ball in ROW ZC of the Dolman. Brings back floods of memories of his inability to pass the ball along the line.

Was also good to see his signature crossing ability of passing it straight out of play.

Cheers Matty! Can honestly say I don't miss him at all.

LOVE IN over and lets move on.

thing is, despite his poor passing along the line on a couple of occasions, McAllister was doing exactly the same thing in the first half.

Jamie Mac is out of contract now after the play-offs and if he decides to move on, I can't think of a more able replacement.

  7. Just wish City had signed Lawrence from Mansfield about 5 years ago when several of us on here were suggesting it. :disapointed2se:

he was great back at Mansfield and always looked like going on to do well and looked the perfect replacement for Murray when he went to Reading,

lost count of the players who we have meet in the lower league and looked obvious to have a good career, without us even looking at them, Jimmy Bullard at Peterboro and Dave Kitson at Cambridge 2 more example that we should have looked at years ago after many an impressive performance against us.

personally I thought it was harsh, however JM didn't do himself any favours.

  8. although I agree he's not a 90min player anymore, he'll still give as good a 70mins as anyone else could in that position, for now I still believe there is no better option than Beckham, like him or not, he's still the best option on the right wing AND as captain, critics moan he is a one trick pony, but hey........he's probably the best in the world at that trick and players love having him in the team, because he creates chances for them and gets goals himself, how many free-kicks did we score when he was out the squad??

As a captain, if you know he will never go hiding and will also be motivate those around him,

Long Term.......after that.........Gerrard - only option really. Brought him on as a player for Liverpool and I'd expect him to do the same for England.

  9. Good signing if they get him, always thought he would end up their at some point in his career, surely with him in addition to managing to hold on to Commons as well as signing Neil Lennon, Chris Cohen and Aaron Davies, I think they will most likely go up this season.

Calderwood has actually made some good signings

  10. Take away Rangers and Celtic, (who would struggle in the Championship!), and all that you are left is a few teams that would struggle in the Conference!!!,  :D

You've got to be kidding, The Scot Premier is a combination of the Prem and Div1 and 2

Rangers and Celtic, would no doubt survive in the Prem, Then you have the likes of Hibs and Hearts who would probably hold there own in Div 1, then you have the rest who are something between lower Div 1 and Div 2 Teams.
