  1. Sorting out a boiler problem today and noted what appears to be an expansion vessel labelled Varem Bovolenta. Italian, apparently, sounding like a no nonsense centre back to me. Put me in mind of when I used to think footballer every time I saw a Hertz Van Rental vehicle. Dutch winger for me. Any others suggested by everyday items? Should lighten the mood away from the Lansdown/Pearson conspiracy nonsense.
  2. Favours much better players and teams with positional fluidity. That is elite football. This league does not lend itself to that. Anomalies such as Wilder's Sheff Utd are not the norm.
  3. Seems to be a fashion for utility players as well, as I have said elsewhere. An elite level option for me, not wise in numbers at this level and below. The club seem to be following this emerging trend.
  4. May well be, but not the point I was making. We seem to be signing a lot of versatile players, great if you have elite versions, not so sure at this level where specialists a more natural fit. Just how I see it. Sykes an example, think his form suffers when moved about. WBA fans miffed, so that is a good sign.
  5. Seems we are following the trend for versatile players, aka utility players. Not sure it is a trend worth following at this level, but we shall see.
  6. Not cleared, charges dropped by CPS who do not decide guilt in any case. Matter remains under continuous review.
  7. Scorer lifted shirt and seemed to be pointing at Adidas logo, unless I am mistaken.
  8. Maybe he thinks he can crack him ... to walk. Contract up in April anyway. We need an experienced no. 9 (at the very least), totally lacked a focal point today, Bell a daft choice central, needs to bulk up. Need an older head, oh for a Wilbs type.
  9. Will struggle to get back up if Bamford stays a sick note. Don't see many goals in this side.
  10. Brilliant, but just eff off sweet bloody caroline, worse than effin Irene. Just stop it, means eff all.
  11. Accounts not the aspect I'm talking about. Value in real terms and attendant risks.
  12. Plain daft in a high inflation high interest rate world. Why do you think West Ham wanted more cash up front recently? Penny dropping for some sellers. Think our esteemed leader could work that one out. High inflation means you ultimately get less in real terms, plus risks mentioned earlier.
  13. Not all, suits premier league clubs who can make multiple big deals and spread the cost, basically gambling if you are a bottom 6 side. Less of a gamble for the big boys.
  14. Why instalments? What if they go out of business before final pay day? I'd never do that with my business.
  15. I have no hopes or dreams for him, just looking for facts and an update on progress. Could have saved yourself a long reply!
  16. Any data / view on Acey Dave? As ever, trying to get thread back on track. Many of us exiles don't get a chance to see the youngsters up close.
  17. Paraphrasing Tinman, if I recall. Anyway, main issue remains, how is he coming along?
  18. Not my words, I know very little about him, hopefully someone here knows more.
  19. What news on him? Billed as the heir to the throne, if I recall. Is he making the expected progress or has he moved on?
  20. Amazing that they have not worked out that it would be much cheaper to poach our academy staff, scouts and Tinman.
