We did ride our luck at times and got very unlucky at times.  Every fan will have biases either way. It’s human nature. People who want Manning out with naturally think we got lucky. Those who want him in will see it differently. Thankfully it’s only football!

I called it during the game, probably a one goal game. Just a feeling based on what was going on. Not a Manning in or out thing on balance for many. Just a good game but with relatively low quality in front of goal in the main.

We were lucky and unlucky. Probably evened itself out.

I'd say disallowed goals when valid more unlucky than penalty decisions. The latter can always be missed/saved. Manning thought we rode our luck at times, as well as making our own luck. Vardy off day a very big factor for me though.

If we got the penalties we deserved we’d have had a huge xG. You can’t just look at one lot of ‘what ifs’ and ignore the other.  We didn’t get lucky. We were unlucky not to have had two penalties

Do you think we rode our luck at times?

Fingers crossed for a defeat Monday for many on here I suspect, just so their wrecking ball gets swinging again. Actually before the game Friday this was the hope, we would get beat, that is just weird I cannot imagine personally that we lose any game, I have been City since Atyeo was playing for England, every defeat was a disaster and every win was a triumph, I would never boo.

If you feel booing will help, why wait for half time or full time to boo, why not boo them as they come on before kick off that'll be just great.

How many said (100%) they wanted a defeat? Actual number would be helpful, thanks.

Thanks @Silvio Dante  Funnily enough I was actually going write, that as a lurker but more recently regular poster, it’s not really been my experience of some of the other first time posters. I think if you have an opinion it’s how you go about delivering it that matters. I don’t think it’s what your opinion is per se.
I’ve seen opinions differ between posters without any need for falling out or resorting to abuse.

Timing is important. I can understand lurking and not posting, but we've had much higher and lower times over the years, so often one thinks, "why now?" whilst also looking at other context. As you mention, it is also not what you say but how you say it.

Have never explored that. Looking at it now. What name do you use over there?

I can only imagine you are speaking about myself based on your hostile replies on my first post, I’m not sure who you think I am but I’m very confused about your reaction to an opinion, is this not an open forum?very childish on your part and irrational making up lies about people to get them banned?

Out of interest, Fred, prior to thursday last, where were you mainly venting your opinions about BCFC online? Are those platforms strongly moderated?

I was reading PASOTI the other day and this comment was very symptomatic of where they are under Foster. I think you’re right from all what I’ve read - they will sit and counter.

Yes, they need goals, and we are not prolific of late. Bore draw odds?

I await Plymouth tomorrow, but I think the players have had a little word, especially off of the back of Manning being under pressure.

    Agree.

Will Plymouth play counter attack? One thing at which they are ok.  I think they wiil, so another slog, potentially.

Whilst having a discussion about Manning with George Elek on X, he pointed out that the recruitment team would be the same for Manning as any other manager, which is pretty obvious.

I’m certain that Adam Murphy and Max Bird were linked prior to Manning’s appointment and would have been brought in regardless of who’s in charge.

This just made me think. People are asking for a summer where Manning can bring in players who fit his style. These guys, and likely any other targets, were already predetermined. Do they fit Manning’s style? Are they players he’d have wanted? Or are we going to end up spending big on players with potential to grow and sell on, but don’t fit the way Manning wants to play?

Head Coach, gets to choose, but only from what is put in front of him, so it is set forth.

Work, other commitments. I probably don’t have the right to comment recently because I don’t go to games much but I have been to many games over the years, and most of them were in the days when city were in the third and forth division. I do pay to watch online. For all the memorable games I have been to there are many more forgettable games.

You have every right, as do others to voice their opinions.

    Why only posting now?

New to this site. Don’t go to many games now but have been to many over nearly 50 years. Would love to see city in the top division again but it has to be done without risking the existence of the club. Steve lansdown has given the club a sound footing but why should he spend all his money chasing the premier league. As I say I’m new here, see a lot of negativity to Bristol sport. Why is that?

What has stopped you attending more regularly?

I’ve never seen max bird play unless he was in the derby side that got relegated. Agree about James. He’s never had pace so he’s not going to lose any & if he has knight around him it’s not a problem . It might be a decision out of mannings hands , but If it was me I’d be on tinnion’s case daily about giving him a new contract. As a young & ( learning on the job coach) you need good experienced pros the help you . I really do fear for our championship status if we lose all our experience. They’re not the end of career feet up type players of the past . They’re top pros that are vital to the dressing room .

Did play a similar role MJ.  Been playing further forward this season.

James, partly because of injuries hasn’t had a lot of game time in his legs.  I see nothing to suggest his physical levels are diminishing.

Just about to post the same thing. Could do another 2 or three years at this level. Idiotic to move him on, unless he wants to go back oop North, of course.

I think we all are Tom. But there is a distinction between supporting the club and shoehorning LM/BT into every post. A case in point were the two posts from @Cole Not Gas this morning - a valid question as to whether you’d renew Williams or James wrapped in a shitpost how good Liam was and one asking for a choice between Tommy and Sam wrapped on a shitpost about how Tinnion was brilliant.

Then this post from Lez being antagonistic.

Its bullshit. I can acknowledge you are more pro BT/LM than I am but you don’t often wind things up intentionally like in those examples. You’re city - I’m city. Those people are more I don’t know what.

But it (the distrust) has been sown by the club. That’s undoubted.

Some of those people are super fans. They will happily tell you that.
