I think quite a few players have been guilty of that over the years though, it’s why managers are always so keen for real competitiveness in each position. A mark of 6 across his time here would be extremely harsh for his overall contribution. 6.5 is just about reasonable, I think it’s still slightly below where I’d put him, but I’m happy to agree to disagree, people see things differently. Out of interest, how would you rate Nahki Wells?

If you rate a players entire career for Bristol City out of 10, for me he’d get a 7. 1 goal every 3 games near enough, 50+ overall. I won’t let his disappointing final 3 months (not 6) cloud my judgement of him as a player for the club. As for the ‘playing in spurts’ comments, how many Bristol City players remain consistent across a whole season? It’s very rare & those that do quickly move on!
  3. Western League Prem is pretty interesting this season. Locally, Brislington, Portishead, Clevedon Town, Nailsea & Tickenham all going pretty well, then Bridgy who weren't doing too badly, but always seems to be a lot going on there. Clevedon Town the best I've seen out of the lot of them so far, but early days. In the Hellenic, Roman Glass are going well too, they've got a couple of ex pro's in Chris Lines & Jennison Myrie-Williams playing for them. Went to watch Cribbs vs Manor Farm the other day in the Southern league, wasn't a bad game, finished 2-0 to BMF. I know managers all give a bit to the officials, but the Cribbs gaffer was something else entirely, never heard anything like it. Shut up once he got booked in the second half though!
  4. Oh yeah I’m sure they have their reasons for it. I’m just saying it doesn’t seem common, The Robins, Spanish, Hen & Chicken & Masonic all ok with it & every other pub in town I’ve been into.
  5. I’ve not experienced it in any other pub, not sure it is quite common. Clubs occasionally yes, but that’s more of a dress code thing.
  6. They’ll be fine. They finished 14 points clear of the relegation spots last season with points deductions. Dyche is the perfect manager to have in there for the period they’re currently going through. Branthwaite being out is massive for them too, when him and Garner are back they’ll look a lot better.
  7. Too young for Cole & Jacki but I’d agree with the other two. There have been plenty of players that I (and most of us) expected to move onto the Prem & did do such as Reid, Brownhill, Semenyo & Bryan. Then there’s the ones you think will go on and play for England like Webster & Scott. I think it might be too late for the former but still plenty of time for the latter! It might’ve just been me, but I felt like Christian Ribeiro would end up a Premier League player when I was watching him during Millens stint as caretaker manager in 2010. It’s a shame about the injuries!

  9. Should’ve taken Bellingham off. He was pony. Gallagher improved us last game when coming on for Trent. It wasn’t that crazy for him to make that change. We’ve had one of these stinking games in the group stage the last 3 tournaments now, (USA, Scotland) I’m hoping we follow it up with a good win to go in to the knockouts with a bit of confidence.
  10. Bridgy lost a load but I still expect them to be alright next season. They will have plenty of money to spend now they’ve lost so many, it may take them a while to get going but I expect they’ll be up there again. By all accounts the coach they’ve hired Nick de-Long is meant to be very good. He’ll probably end up as manager at some point during the season.
  11. 26 I believe. 1 point & 1 place out on City Didnt we sign that keeper Thomas this season? Notice you’ve put no on your answers @Nogbad the Bad
  12. First season up after we got promoted, I seem to recall he got quite a bit of stick on here. Good to see him doing well.
  13. Enjoyed that. Pearson certainly trusted Fleming and Euell to do a lot of the coaching & in the end that's partly what seemed to cost him his job. Remember hearing quite a bit the board wanted a more 'hands on' coach. I hope Euell gets himself a job soon. He was highly rated by a friend of mine who supports Charlton when he was in charge of their development side & it seemed like he did a good job here too. Only 50 odd views in here, should post it into the Football chat forum because this sub forum is a load of rubbish. I only saw it because it was the most recent post and listed next to the sub forum title.
  14. Yeah, for England. Found it interesting that he was third, only Saka & Kane ahead.
  15. I agree with you. He's definitely a better player than both of those. He's had a poor season by his standards, but Man United seems a toxic place to be & almost everyone seems to have struggled there this season. We're going into a tournament with Maguire as the 3rd top scorer through the squad which is interesting. I won't complain too much though, I think Southgate tends to get most things right.
  16. Branthwaite is twice the player Dunk is. Dunk has played a few times for England and has seemed to make a mistake every single time.
  17. Trent has been named as a midfielder in the last few squads, I don't see that changing. Mitchell the palace LB made the squad a few times under GS. I wonder if he'll be in. With it now being 26 places, I think they'll take the risk on involving Shaw.

I really rate Conway, I expected a bit more from him this season though. I'm hopeful of him staying but I don't see it happening. I only recall a couple of occasions where a contract offer has been on the table for a long time and that was Reid & Scott, neither ended up signing. Am I missing anyone who we waited on to sign for a while before they eventually did? I can't think of any.
  19. Feltham staying at Portishead! Massive for them!
  20. Would love to see Manor Farm win it’s a bloody tough ask though. Frome are very good & probs should’ve won the league. Have heard that the lad who scored 50+ for Portishead Ethan Feltham will be at Weston next year, not sure how true but it wouldn’t surprise me. Expect there will be an exodus from Bridgwater Town after they’ve failed to go up again. Clevedon Town will do well to keep a hold of their keeper James Dunn next season. He kept 20+ clean sheets this year & he’s definitely good enough for the step above.
  21. Also, not sure if mentioned but Portishead got promoted to the Western League Prem yesterday. Their striker Ethan Feltham has scored over 50 goals this season.
  22. Had no idea Leigh-Gilchrist (Gizz) was at BMF. He’s one hell of a player and way too good for the level he’s been playing at with Roman Glass.
  23. Plymouth have released one. Are they the first Championship side to do so?
