  1. Thought this was going to be another thread about Mark Ashton...
  2. TBH all Thatchers stuff is too sweet and fizzy for me. Stones Dry ?
  3. Just say no to non-apple flavoured ciders.
  4. They beat the third-from-bottom team 1-0 at home. Their opponents had a man sent off as well. Not exactly one to remember forever.
  5. That's quite a statement. However, I imagine the people being offended by the fact that our club recognises that it has Welsh fans, are middle-aged men in the main. AFAICS they tend to be much bigger snowflakes than the young.
  6. Aye. Same here. We all know Pearson's track record, but that has been achieved in different circumstances with different staff and a different budget. So, in a characteristic Nigel phrase, 'it is what it is'. After becoming rather complacent about City winning more than they lose, it's tough to take two seasons where we're miles off the pace of the top clubs. But you'd be holding up Lord Nelson's telescope if you couldn't see signs of green shoots at the club, in particular the development of young talent here.
  7. Bristolian-Welsh rivalry and banter is something that goes back decades, probably centuries. But that said, it's worth some fans respecting that City have some very committed Welsh fans. I know one and he's 100% Ciderhead as well as being proud of Cardiff, the city he grew up. He shares our opinion of the football club based there.
  8. No survey is completely accurate, but you can see from this forum alone that most fans are happy with giving Pearson more time to develop the team further. The same arguments of sample size could be made over the number of active Otib contributors, but the fact is, we as a group do represent a wide cross-section of fans: people who were going to City games in 1956 and people who started supporting in the 2000s; people with strong and differing opinions on previous managers; strong views about certain players; all sorts of different jobs, family circumstances, lifestyles, political and other beliefs. The only thing that binds Otibbers together is we're passionate enough about Bristol City to spend time on a forum discussing the club.
  9. A very, very decent result back then.
  10. I got it on the day it was out and can attest to its continuation of fabulous lyricism and offbeat subject matter. It's perhaps a little more professional and less endearingly ramshackle than early 'Biscuit', but who can but love couplets like "See you later undertaker/In a while necrophile"*. * From "I'm Getting Buried In The Morning", a song about a bloke's last day on death row.
  11. Maybe he'd been watching the Rugby earlier? Two points!
  12. Quite agree. You can't expect the FA to get anything right, they are, and have been for years, almost as useless as the international bodies that govern our sport. However in an ideal world the "fit and proper person" test should continuously apply, not just at the moment that person seeks to take over a league club. Owners who are close to Putin and profiting from that relationship, should be ordered to disinvest in British football. That means Abramovitch selling their clubs, not trying to pretend proxies are running them.
  13. Think that's the one I recall. League Cup? Can't remember a draw in 2004, but when I lived in London I'd often not be able to attend cup games.
  14. Broad Somerset Liverpool fans out in Street tonight. Each one togged up in full manual manipulator outfits. Jordan Tansley.
  15. Ditto. I have a vague memory of them beating us in a cup game at the Gate early 2000s, but I don't think I've seen us play them in the league.
  16. Thought this was going to be a thread about @Rudolf Hucker...
  17. Concede 17 goals in 4 games and that's your lot in the Prem. It's the loss to Everton that probably started the Leeds board thinking about his exit.
  18. Ultimately, we can point to defenders having off days, but the ball didn't travel into the Forest half enough and when it got there, it didn't stick. When your penalty box is constantly being attacked, mistakes and mix-ups will happen.
  19. Why not boil your piss in his work mug. That'll teach him.
  20. It's all my fault, boys. Every time I follow a game entirely via Otib's matchday thread, we are dogshit. I'll go for a long walk next away day. (There's no f-in way I'm going to travel to Blackburn)
