  1. Pearson's Monday morning game debrief will be modelled on this:
  2. To quote Carlo Gervasi from The Sopranos: "He's gotta go!!" But what are our precise options here? How soon are we likely to get any of the injured players back?
  3. Not enough pictures of dog, but otherwise good work. Interesting that the Welsh traffic sign indicated that City would be playing actual swans. We were lucky to avoid more injuries. They can break a man's arm.
  4. Half Man Half Biscuit fans would doubtless agree with me that in that still, Big Nige looks like A Man of Constant Sorrow (With a Garage in Constant Use)
  5. Bit turgid that second half in Rome, but we did what we had to. I always wonder what Italy get out of Six Nations. It must be almost as depressing for their fans as it is for those following City away. Georgia are above Italy in the world rankings, so wouldn't it make sense to make it the Seven Nations? Then at least there will be some contest over who gets the wooden spoon.
  6. Kalas has been given a bit too easy a ride in a number of poor defensive displays. He's our best defender (well, maybe Klose will take that accolade) but that's a bit like being awarded the best-looking man in a leper colony prize. The standard ain't great. Totally agree with the OP on Massengo's role in the first goal. Ultimately, you can't help shit refs ignoring offside goals and blatant penalties, but we also should've scored more than one from the chances we created. The boys up the other end of the pitch need to take a bit of the blame for a defeat as well.
  7. Massengo, Pring and Klose all converged on the attacker, but didn't prevent the run into our box or cross, and Vyner simply trotted alongside their scorer. Kalas was marking no one and was a spectator. That first goal truly was dire on all accounts. Thing is, Vyner also committed a high-visibility blunder for their third. He will be under the Pearson spotlight for sure. I prefer him as a midfielder too, but we have other options there.
  8. OK. Fair penalty denied. Second goal benefitted from an unlucky bounce. Third was a good individual effort, although, of course, we could have done better. But their first goal! Oh my days. That's among the worst defending I've seen. Three red shirts failing to stop the run or cross, it's piss weak and sort of trickles for the guy to run in and tap in as if it was a training ground drill. I'd be trying to destroy any footage of that, if I was involved in that utter balls-up.

  10. It isn't too difficult to remember. I de hen? No, you de hen!
  11. Everyone's kicked a ball in their life and you don't need to be an ex-pro to be able to sniff out a performance that stinks to high heaven. Can you imagine what City fans would say if they read the Post and found a glowing report of that fiasco and high player ratings? Nige and I agree on one thing he always says: 'you defend together as a team and you attack together as a team'. Much analysis on Otib is given to a game of "who's at fault?" for goals conceded. Needless to say, most only focus on the last man, when inevitably multiple players are at fault. But the corollary of that, is when you have a terrible team performance, like Blackpool, everyone has to accept a share of the blame. Fail to attack as a team, fail to defend as a team. That might hurt some feelings, but the papers wouldn't be honest if they didn't tell it like it was.
  12. Agreed. I guess 6/10 will do in that league. He is suffering from the comparison with their club captain Sam Morsy who is one of L1's better players, but is - yet again - suspended.
  13. Good edit. You could've had Chris Kiwomya. Now managing the British Virgin Islands. Bet he pays tax on his salary...
  14. Antoine's just a different sort of player now then the tentative, raw kid we saw earlier in his City career. Last season, you could see he had the physicality and some good instincts, but he was shy of taking shots, made poor passing decisions and often had not positioned himself to receive the ball. His main use was slowing down opposition attacks in their half. The OP was right, he wasn't a striker then. The Semenyo this winter has all those drawbacks largely fixed so I'm inclined to believe, unless they replaced him with an ultra-handy lookalike, his talk of working hard on the weaknesses in his game during his time out injured was gospel truth. He's someone who has obviously bought into Pearson's coaching regime and has benefitted from it. I don't want to go OTT about a player finally achieving his potential, but how anyone could question him starting up front now is beyond me.
  15. Actually, it was great to see while searching for that Osman image, you can buy this merch:
  16. Surely there's a third....
  17. Yup. I'm not an advocate of him here, but I should think he's a reasonable talent at L1 level.
  18. I don't think the Post was exactly harsh, judging by what was said by those who watched it.
  19. I guess it's there nearest divisional rival these days besides Cambridge. Although there's the Mark Ashton link these days - and a few of their supporters can be right arses - I always have a bit of time for Ipswich. What has been achieved by such a smallish town club over the decades has been quite astonishing. And let's not forget, along with Southampton, they played a charity match to help out our players when we were facing extinction.
  20. Which, to be fair, is full of people saying he's doing alright. The guy who titled the thread that is getting a bit of a coating.
  21. Amazing that Godsiff only left us a couple of years ago. I can remember his byline on City stories in the early 70s.
  22. Waterloo Sunset and That's Entertainment both represent a zenith of English lyricism in my opinion. Up The Junction is there as well.
