  1. I like how the "new" manager plays Mehmeti. A very good first half, I was not watching any games in the last 4 weeks, but now I have to say that is one of that first halfs when you are confident. I mean, I don't see City dropping 3 points. The things can only get better after we get back atkinson Mcrowie and we bring one more striker at least.

    Hi guys

New here as a group of mates made me pick a Championship team to follow. I chose Bristol City and trying to get a handle on what I’ve got myself into. Are we really as shit as you lot say? I’m in Australia and coming over for Xmas so wanting to come to a game, where should I get tickets for?

Let's see how much you will be here. Your story is a bit more weird than mine when I became a fan haha.

  3. Almost paid for the stream because free was not working. It started working in min 50. I had 40 mins of..I don't know...I can not call it anger but more like disappointment. Our passing is horrible without Scott or even that Masengo.

Everything is so predictable. Sometimes I think that I would have better decisions that some of the players if I were on the pitch. I played football for a few years and I known the basics that's why sometimes I don't understand what is happening.

Same thing with my local team FCSB, I feel like I am a bad luck when I watch my teams games, because I don't see football. When I don't watch the games most of the time they play better.

  4. Hey guys, is there a chance to receive something if I mail Bristol City ? I would love to ask for something with the signature of some of the players, a shirt or anything in fact.

I can not come to Bristol is kinda hard for me, and I can't order anything that can be signed by the players.

Do you think I worth something for the people at the club if I mail them ? On the website says they dont accept any requests like that, but not everyday a team with no PL background for 40 years has a fan from Romania that is pretty commited for 17 years already.

    Thanks !

Those final 4 you list, I think you’re basing this on club size and reputation.  Norwich are in the free transfer market, West Brom haven’t recruited anyone (yet), Watford free transfers (£50k for Ince).  As for Leeds, thoughts of their Director of Football having a £100m from player sales to reinvest, have been dashed as they have moved on loan, not for fees.  There are some serious it worried fans.

You maybe right about Leicester and Southampton, but still got several players who might get picked off by PL teams.

I mean, all of these teams have better players than us but yea, the stability and the morale can be more important than quality over the course of the season.

Luton made it with standard players, so... everything is possible.

I thought you wanted us to keep our assets to get promoted?  Playoffs is only a 1 in 4 chance. ???

How do you know this season is harder?

Who are your top 2 then?

The Championship is hard every year.

Leicester and Southampton are looking better than any other team. We have Norwich, West Brom, Watford, Leeds United. They are rich, higher salaries, they can attract better players.

Only if there is a loan back,

I was also thinking about those moaning about selling our best players,

Where were we in the league with both Scott and semenyo in the side? Because it wasn't challenging for the play-offs, so keeping those 2 and not strengthening how does that suddenly make us promotion contenders....it doesn't,

You sacrifice 1 exceptional player and sign 3 or 4 great players with the cash and suddenly your team is alot better

Yea, for the sake of getting a better team, certainly selling Scott and spending money on other players would be good. But 4 more players mean 3 more wages than now ( after seeling Scott ). I don't know if the staff will choose to invest a lot of that money into some better players.

Being a bit confrontational, just asking the question - did you watch Kalas this season?  I thought he was near the top of his game when he played.

Definitely up for debate re his injuries and possibly them recurring though.

Why have you omitted the other forwards in our squad?  Our top league scorer is still here btw.

I think Kalas will not be the same and his injuries will continue probably. His age is not 20 anymore so his recoveries it seems are not for long term. I like him but not for 25k week.

And for top league scorer, yeah but I still fele that we need a good striker.

Last season he was indeed injured, but the season before he played 35 league games, which is not an injury hit year at all..........if he is willing to accept much reduced terms then i am all for it, if not then he will move on.

Yea on reduced terms is okay. But at over 20k+ is not worth it. We need to boost other areas of the pitch and that money would help us to pay more salaries. We are pretty in good shape at CB with a numer of player being very versatile.

I am still waiting for a proven Striker. I don't see striking top 6 for 46 games with Bell and Conway ( they are very talented ) but we need a proven striker.

  10. I can't help myself.... I am quite angry to see Luton in Premier League. I hoped that Boro will make it. This is rubbish, they couldn't even keep Naismith with a decent contract but they managed to get 80 points. Ok, good for them but I am jealous, yes I AM. I can't think otherwise... Sorry if I am selfish but I am not happy for them at all.

Maybe it's because I live in Bristol, but if someone says "Did you watch City last weekend" to me, even someone I don't know, I assume they mean Bristol City.

If I'm not in Bristol I'd probably take half a second to realise what they meant... Bristol City will always be the first thought in my head when someone says something like that regardless of who I'm talking to or where I am!

I don't call any other team "City", I'd say "Man City" or whatever. It's not for some weird ideological reason, it's just how my brain has been conditioned over the years...

I totally get it. I became a Bristol City fan more than 15 years ago but most of my friends don't even know who we are. Only the very passionate football fans outside of Europe know that. That's why when someone talks about City i can relate that they are meaning Man City.

Personally I don't really like Guardiola' team. I m more into Liverpool if we talk about the big 4 teams from England PL.

  12. Guys we all know if you say City in England or the rest of the world, you think about Manchester City the first time.

I understand the OP. Even for a Bristol City fan, the first thing in your head when you hear City from someone else is Man City.

In my country if Bristol City will play Man City the commentators will say "What a goal from Bristol" and "What a goal from City".

Man City is an Worldwide team playing in the best Competition. Except OTIB, when I talk about Man City i write i call them City all the time...you don't need to be mean to the OP.

  13. This is exactly what I wanted to write. Let's hire their whole staff, directors and everything ! If we sell Scoot for 25£ and we can spend some money due to the sale of Semenyo also (more wage budget) some players will leave also in the summer (our loss will be less because one of the last financial years will be gone also and we had not so much expenses in the last two years for transfers).

I mean, Luton has again a good season, we look like we are the bigger club (better stadium, better players during the years, better salaries, established for years in Championship) what is the recipe ?

Bristol is the biggest City to miss Premiere League... We need to learn from others, let's stop this ups and downs that are so frustrating for everyone of us. I am not talking about changing Nigel Pearson but something needs to get better, to hire staff that made good things (proven), not the manager two times per season with no benefits, the problem is much more deep.

  14. Good that we are safe and we can't do better we can't do worse. I m looking forward to next season.

Buuuuut. I was not watching our last game and we won, i was not watching this because i had other things to do. I started to watch at 2-0 and in the next 5 seconds it was 2-1. I think i m not good luck for our team....now is 2-2. I will watch the full game, sorry if we will loose, it's probably on me haha.

  15. Of course I won't love 2 season in PL and then 15 in Championship. That Luton had a better run, around 10 years of First Division Football. But that doesn't matter, the thing is that like others said, we are a feeder club. We will sell Scoot for a good amount of money this summer and GOD knows what we will bring back. Hope not some Andy Kind and Matty James replicas ( nothing to do with them but they look like squad players, not players who carry a team )
