  1. And this is the problem with people (incorrectly) referring to blocks S25-27 as Section 82. (Not an attack on you @LondonBristolian) It paints us (S82) in a certain light, which is inaccurate. And prompts these sort of opinions/responses - which I completely understand - and which generally will only have a negative effect on peoples perception of 'us'. As a result of people's actions/words which are often not at all reflective of our views/opinions. So, for absolute clarity (although others have kindly already pointed out earlier in this thread, and others), Section 82 is a fairly small (<20) group of supporters who have season tickets in the above blocks. We don't speak for "the blocks" we speak for ourselves. And I can assure you that the 'petition', was absolutely not set up by us. And we do not hold ourselves in any higher regard than anyone else, within these blocks - or anywhere else in the ground. On the topic itself, as @phantom has already eloquently stated. The SC&T (and others) are in dialogue with the relevant parties, as to the options which may/may not be available in terms of the expansion of safe standing within AG. So those who are of the opinion that a wider area of safe standing (and the perceived improvement in the atmosphere which that may bring) can be comforted in the knowledge that these conversations are taking place.
  2. Afternoon all, I'll try and keep this short and sweet! We're as keen as ever to try and provide a positive platform for vocal/visual support for the team on matchdays, so far this season we've managed to largely replace a lot of the lost/damaged flags/poles etc from previous seasons (first time in about 4/5 years!), as well as the display we arranged for the Birmingham game, in support of Jazz Ellis in his ongoing and inspirational fight against prostate cancer, as well all other City Fans who are fighting personal battles in their lives. We are fortunately just about as 'rich' as we've ever been in terms of willing hands on deck to assist in the 'setting up' etc (can never have too many though!). However, of course, there is the fiscal element too..! We completely appreciate that spare change isn't something which is in everyone's pockets at present, however if you can afford and would like to contribute to what we are trying to continue to do, we have set up a crowdfunding link - https://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/p/section-82-display-fund-1 You can also contribute through the purchase of stickers/merchandise, which we sell through our website - https://www.section82.co.uk/ (and also on a matchday, either in El Rincon - The Spanish Bar, or in the ground 'by the drum') Thank you, as ever, for your support. S82
  3. One of the first questions on this thread, was to ask what it was. One of my first replies was that it was positive and supportive. So short of a diagram/exact explanation of what, where and why, i'm not sure what else you were hoping for?
  4. Nothing evasive. Just didn't see it necessary to post a step by step breakdown/diagram, as I explained yesterday (and the reasons why). Part of the desired effect is having an element of intrigue. It shouldn't take a genius to work that out... Anyway, hopefully it goes down well, and the lads on the pitch give us something to cheer about too??
  5. Shame I put it in the wrong thread ??
  6. There is no "message" depicted within the card display. The cards are red, or white. Hope that allays any fears
  7. Thanks for your support on tomorrow's display! Though you've also raised a common misconception which i'm glad about, as you've given me the opportunity to clarify. (Although sorry if I've misinterpreted and you were talking generally, as opposed to about S82 specifically, although may still be useful info for others!) None of the "stupid stuff" you've detailed there, has anything to do with the (sometimes ?) organised group - Section 82. You are referring to other people, such as yourself, who have tickets in blocks S25-27, as they enjoy being able to stand, sing etc etc. But whom wouldn't consider themselves part of S82. As a group we try to provide a positive platform, for both fans and the team. As a group, we are relatively small in number (less than 30) so focus our time and efforts (and money) on building on that platform, rather than the other things you've mentioned.
  8. Apologies if that's how it's come across, as certainly not been the intent. I understand the logic behind the point you seem to be trying to push, however to be honest I'd interpreted the questions of 'what is it' etc to be more of an inquisitive/interested nature, rather than an "i'm not doing it unless I know all the details" one. And as I said earlier I/we are not being deliberately ambiguous or 'superior' in not giving a detailed description of what we hope to be an effective display. We just also don't want to detract from the (intended) effect. So I'm not sure it's as an unreasonable position to take, as you seem to be making it out to be... The alternative I suppose is that we offer no indication that there is anything planned and rely on some 2000+ people noticing a piece of Red/White card next to their seat, and knowing what and when to do with it. I'm not aware of a 'divisive' or controversial display which has ever been organised by us, which has caused those who partake in making it a success to feel that they have been manipulated in to presenting something not reflective of their own views etc (we do have a fairly obvious common purpose, after all. Don't we?) We can ask, as we have done, for people to help make it a success. However It is of course everyone's own prerogative, as to whether they choose to do so or not. And fingers crossed the majority opt for the former ?
  9. The display is aimed at those in the ground, not the seagulls above
  10. importantly supportive ?. You will see at approx 14:59 tomorrow. I'm not being deliberately ambiguous, just don't want to detract from the effect. However I will say there there is nothing in anyway divisive/controversial about the display.
  11. definitely NOT a Croatian 'Home' Shirt (nor a national flag/emblem of any description) ?
  12. Please read and share!??. Especially if you'll be in blocks S25, S26 & S27 for tomorrow's game. This is a display that will mean a lot, to a lot of people, so 100% participation is essential! Thank you ?
  13. LONG (AND IMPORTANT) POST ALERT Squad signed 23/34 Outfield & GK shirts, anyone? Then please read to the end! And then share. Very kindly arranged by Max O'Leary, Zak Vyner, Sammy Bell, Scott Murray & Brian Tinnion. These were originally organised solely as means to boost funds towards displays etc for the upcoming season, however we have since decided to split the proceeds (50/50) with a donation to Prostate Cancer UK - a prostate cancer research, awareness and support organisation. Full details on prize draw etc at bottom of this post. However before skipping to that, PLEASE read (and then share!) the following...! Prostate Cancer is something which is at the forefront of many City Fans minds at present, with heart-breaking but also some inspirational connotations. As we support a fellow red in his battle against this awful disease. Whereby, even through the unbearably tough days there still shines a positive outlook and unwavering desire to spread awareness to others. Something we all can (and should!) take responsibility for! Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men. More than 52,000 men are diagnosed with prostate cancer every year on average – that's 143 men every day. Every 45 minutes one man dies from prostate cancer – that's more than 12,000 men every year. 1 in 8 men will get prostate cancer. If you’re over 50, or you’re black, or your dad or brother had it, you’re at even higher risk. Prostate cancer is not always life-threatening. But when it is, the earlier you catch it the more likely it is to be cured. Symptoms of prostate cancer can include: -needing to pee more frequently, often during the night. -needing to rush to the toilet. -difficulty in starting to pee (hesitancy) -straining or taking a long time while peeing. -weak flow. -feeling that your bladder has not emptied fully. -blood in urine or blood in semen. This IS NOT a taboo subject, please DO NOT allow embarrassment etc to prevent you from getting checked out. Speak to your GP, the WORST that can happen is that they give you the all clear! You can even order testing kits online (search PSA Testing KIT). Please spread the word! Make sure your mates, your dads, your sons, your uncles (and YOU!), all stay vigilant to symptoms - and get checked out! Thank you! PRIZE DRAW DETAILS: (Available here http://section82.co.uk) Entries are £5 each, or 3 for £10. On purchase, you will be allocated a number (1 per paid entry), which will be confirmed (manually, so bear with us) via email. So please make sure the email address associated with the order is correct! Draw will take place by GOOGLE RANDOM NUMBER GENERATOR (and will be LIVE STREAMED) at approx. 20:00 on SUNDAY 9th JULY - the day after City Fans 'Weston Day Out' (where entries will also be available to purchase in person). !Full transparency on entry list will be published prior to draw! (so even if you somehow manage to get your email address etc WRONG, you'll still be 'in it, to win it') Good Luck (stay vigilant, get checked out and SPREAD THE WORD!)
  14. **post cleared with SC&T ?** Good morning all! Some of you may have already seen similar info on our various social media channels etc. But just to cover all bases, thought it would be good to post on here too! Firstly, just to reiterate, for those that maybe aren't aware, that everything we do 'visually' (ie. the flags, banners, organised displays etc) are all completely designed, funded and implemented by fans. We used to have a regular stream of donations (both in SIGNIFICANT time and money), but since COVID and with the current cost of living challenges everyone is contending with, things have understandably slowed down. We're obviously keen to keep things going from our perspective, both visually and vocally (we find that both tend to go hand in hand) as obviously want to give the lads on the pitch the best platform we can, from a support perspective, to get the results we all want. Unfortunately, this season in-particular, far more flags etc have either 'grown legs' and/or been damaged beyond productive use. We have (embarrassingly, for those involved) managed to recover several stolen articles through conversations/support from the Club/AG and their CCTV facilities etc. However that obviously defeats the point, that it simply shouldn't be happening. We have liaised with the club, and asked the Stewards/stadium staff to be more vigilant if/when they see flags 'leaving' the ground. As in short, that should never be the case. Whilst there is some serious 'replacing' which needs to take place, we obviously continue to have ambitions of co-ordinated visual displays for specific fixtures etc. All of which takes considerable time, effort & funding. As ever, we are extremely appreciative of those who continue to support our efforts, by giving up their time as well as by contributing financially - through sticker and merchandise sales/donations as well as various fundraisers etc. However now that the sun has (finally) decided to show itself in glimpses over the last week or so, it seemed as good a time as any to commission some merchandise more suited to warmer weather! With proceeds from which will (as always!) go - in their entirety - towards flags, banners & display materials. When designing, we were conscious that there are probably many who would happily contribute, but maybe would prefer to purchase something a little more "City" themed, rather than S82 specifically, in order to do so. Therefore we've designed a logo which hopefully will prove to be popular with that in mind. With pictures below of the (soon to be available) designs. These are currently available for Pre-order through our website (along with stickers etc.) - https://section82.bigcartel.com/ And for this period will be priced as follows: T-shirts & Bucket Hats: £15 each or £25 for 2. And/or £25 for one of each (Hat & Tee)! Also/alternatively get a Bucket Hat & Pair of Sunglasses for £20 Your support, as always, is very much appreciated ??. Any questions, please ask and I'll do my best to respond asap!
  15. We still have them on the bar at El Rincon on match days. Also on our website - https://section82.bigcartel.com/ All proceeds from both, in to future displays ?? (Stickers available on eBay have no connection to us)
  16. Morning all, It was probably noticeable that last season we were less 'active' in terms of choreographed displays etc. A combination of a few things, largely coming down to the core members of S82 having less time (And money!) to plan/arrange etc. I think also, that (without purporting to speak 'for' anyone) given the 12 months or so that preceded it. We all just needed a bit of a break! Going in to this season, it does feel like a bit of a fresh start. And there is an appetite within us to revitalise the more visual aspect of what we 'do'. Although unfortunately, on top of the time commitments there is obviously the fiscal element too... As some of you will know, we do operate sticker (and limited merchandise) sales, both through our website - https://section82.bigcartel.com/ - and also 'in person' on Match Days from El Rincon (The Spanish Bar) on North Street. From which ALL profits are recycled in to the pot. So you can support us through purchases made in either way. Whilst completely understanding that 'spare change' isn't something synonymous with many peoples current circumstances, We have also set up the below 'crowd funding' page. Which if you are able (and would like) to contribute to, donations of any size would be gratefully received. https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/section-82?utm_term=83emJ4BNr All being well, we've got some big plans for the season ahead. Starting with Sunderland (H) and in memory of everyone's mate, Stoney Garnett. S82 ?
  17. Almost Oh his name's Alex Scott and he is so wonderful, when he gets the ball, oh he's beautiful he's magical. When he runs down the wing, he's as fast as lightning. It's frightening. And he makes all the city sing Do do do (etc etc)
  18. Looks like Wes Burns won't be in the squad tonight as is off to Milwall with the u'21s.
