  1. Ah whereabouts? We went last year for a week. Spent half the time up in the mountains, stayed in Žabljak and spent a few days exploring the Durmitor National Park, bit of white water rafting. Absolutely stunning scenery and feels like you've gone back in time a bit to, which was interesting. Then for the other half we went back to Kotor on the coast. The old town is beautiful.
  2. I've had lobster there twice. First time was fresh in from Cornwall and it was incredible - the herb butter they use on it under the grill is amazing. 2nd time, the other week, it was a Canadian lobster, so would assume not quite so fresh - was very good, but not at previous lobster levels. Mrs Turnip had skate and enjoyed and the halibut and monk fish looked amazing. Can't go wrong there really - cracking little plaice.... ?
  3. Recommend trying New Bristol Brewery - they are just refurbishing their tap room, but will be completed end of Feb. Plus they will have Asado on site if you like a burger. Think they show the rugby too. New Bristol Brewery | Hands-on Beers ASADO - Amazing Wood Grilled Burgers Bristol (asadobristol.com)
  4. Is that the really nice sponge/cream/custard dish with nuts that they blow torch? If so, absolutely incredible pud.
  5. The Bends - Radiohead August & Everything After - Counting Crows Rubber Factory - The Black Keys My Head is an Animal - Monsters of Men White Blood Cells - White Stripes * subject to constant change!
  6. La Panza is a lovely little, if not quirky, Italian in Redcliffe. Best pasta I've had outside of Italy. La Panza (lapanzabristol.co.uk)
  7. So you’ve responded to the 2nd 2 questions but not the first 2? Why not give those a go?
  8. Not sure the age of the article, but it's up for sale!
  9. I second this. Delicious Sunday lunch. Must go back!
  10. Steve Craddock I believe - simultaneously lead gutairist for Weller's solo career and OCS. He did a some solo work a few years back as well. Not sure how well received it was, but watched him on the Grain Barge and he was excellent.
  11. He did - my mate bought it!!
  12. Burgers: Asado Squeezed Milk Bun Honest Burger Three Brothers Burger Theory Quay Street Diner All very good!
  13. The fact that you think this is even possible proves you have no idea how vaccines work.
  14. If you like your scandi crime drama's (The Killing/The Bridge), then The Chestnut Man on Netflix is pretty good.
  15. I'd suggest buying "Weird Bristol", think there are 2 books now, written by a local author. They are broken down into a several chapters (each in a different area in Bristol) and are laid out in a series of walks. Each walk has about 10 stops on it with a significant "weird" historical story attached. They're facinating and a nice way to have a wander around Bristol on a Sunday afternoon. Did the Castle Park one at the weekend!
  16. Off there on Friday night! Will report back....
  17. Went to Root at Wapping Wharf at the weekend. Mainly vegatarian small plates (tapas style), with a couple of meet/fish dishes, but don't let that put you offf - superb food and nice location/views. Agree about Pasture and Little French - very good. And 7 Lucky Gods for the Korean Chicken alone!
  18. Animal corona type virus's have been observed in animals including bats for years. Plus it's been observed and reported that a lot of chinese practises risk the mutation of the virus enabling it to infect humans. A ticking time bomb were the words used I think. I have no idea what presure was applied following this but so can't comment on that. Do you not think the Chinese goverment should have acted? Whilst the risk was known, the particular strain and it characteristics could not be, so not sure how we could have prepared? What would you have done? I'm not sure I believe we can assess who has managed it well at this point. Should, as suspected, the virus be a result of chinese practises, I would hope they are dealt with accordingly and the goverment forced to deal with the risks the behaviour of some of it's people cause. Why wouldn't you try and prevent re-occurances?
  19. It's not jumping the gun though is it. It's reacting to the information (or lack of) provided at the time.
  20. I assume because we have no imunity. Therefore it will spread to more people, meaning more vunerable people will get it, meaning a lot more of them will die.
