  1. Agree and there will only be one winner between JL and NP
  2. Thought he came across well. He’s right to acknowledge that he expected us to be doing better. Can’t remember whether he said that on the Radio or the Post article.
  3. I’ve skimmed the thread but back to the original subject of winless runs, I wonder whether they will increase between now and the end of the season? One factor I’ve not seen mentioned often is that most of our season has been dead-rubbers. We’ve never really got sucked into relegation fight, never threatened the top of the table. Similar at the back end of last season where we were truly awful but were never going down. I think we lack a bit of edge/jeopardy at times… hard to be 100% focused/motivated? (I know they are professionals but human nature is a factor). I guess I’m wary that despite everything NP rants about… the flip flops might already be on and the team heading closer and closer to the beach….
  4. Bit harsh on Captain Tom!!! Completely agree. The signing of Simpson made no sense at all. NP’s signings have not worked, leaving him with last season’s squad…..for my money he has shot the confidence of Vyner and Atkinson. I’ve a horrible feeling that by the end of this season we’ll be saying “if the season went on another month…” (again).
  5. Too many eggs in the “gamble” basket. Especially when we add in Simpson, Weimann and Baker. All with questionable availability in the past couple of seasons. Weimann has paid of big-style. The rest…. not so. Of course what I don’t know is whether they were all we could afford… surely not with a little creative recruitment? As you say, hopefully lessons learned and a more balanced transfer approach in the summer, if our recruitment team is up to the task!
  6. James Morton played for the U23s the other day. Not saying he’s any sort of long term answer but he’s another body and has sone league experience. It’s very frustrating that we signed James and King in the summer - one with a terrible historic injury record, the other has barely played in 2+ years. Guess what? One’s had a terrible injury record, the other has barely played… it felt like a gamble at the time and has proved that way.
  7. Thank you. Looking forward to listening to this. What a special player, at a special time for this club. Always seems a little overlooked when the City greats are talked about.
  8. 3.5 is about right from central Bristol (I live near Preston). That assumes no one is leaving in rush hour or late enough that you hit junction closures. Obviously the M5 and M6 can be a nightmare. Good luck!!!
  9. I reckon this is, at best, jumbled reporting. I wouldn’t be at all surprised if we’d contacted Warnock during Pearson’s last illness absence but now makes little sense at all - Nige appears to be on good form and, although results are a bit rubbish, we’re playing better than for a while and we aren’t getting relegated… well probably not! Cardiff is the perfect job for NW - stop the slide and steady the ship between now and the end of the season.
  10. Interesting. That’s the possibility of a big old back line…. Pring Klose Atkinson Kalas Vyner. Might be useful in some games!
  11. Unanimously popular? You’re talking pollocks.
  12. Agree for me that goal was more about defenders than keeper. They just disappeared! Our back 3 look like two full backs and a non-leader, non-talker centre half….. oh wait, they are!
  13. Yeah Scott and Dasilva trying to pick up their big man and neither got close. Max not great but, personally, I think that want as easy a take as some are suggesting.
  14. No Trialist/Klose in the side…. Let go? Or signed and in Luton with the first team I wonder?
  15. I used to go there… can’t remember its name. A few doors along from what would have been Norman Hunter’s sport shop - or was it a shoe shop? I reckon that had gone by the time videos were a thing. Or am I completely confused (not for the first time)??
  16. Anyone heard anything about a Terry Cooper tribute? That’s gone very quiet. I was hoping for the training ground to get a decent name!
  17. Not the biggest isn’t great. I really think this team needs to increase its physicality all over the park. Pace would be the thing weird missing no mention of that.
  18. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-9041455/amp/THE-SECRET-SCOUT-Southamptons-rising-star-Ramello-Mitchell-necessary-assets.html sounds interesting
  19. That’s really interesting and also starts to explain our home form. The good news being that, in the second half of the season, far more of our home games are against our fellow bottom half gang…. Good home form ahead? I’ll ignore the fact we have the top 3 away from home!
  20. Anyone know where Morton disappeared to? He was leaving, then it fell through but I don’t remember him being released and never plays for the U23s. Not that I’d expect him to be Champ standard, just curious.
  21. I’ll ask Tim, “I know him so well” after meeting him “one night in Bangkok”. (slightly disturbed by my own knowledge of musicals!!!)
  22. Agree it seems weird…. Do they own the ground? Surely the land that sits on alone must be worth several tens of millions? how can the whole business be valued at less than one year’s tv revenue? If this is correct: https://www.statista.com/statistics/240912/broadcasting-payments-to-clubs-in-the-english-premier-league/
