  1. Such a good defender for us. Organiser and leader too. Awful story, wishing him the best.
  2. Agreed. Problem would be we’d already have a new “big 4” gunning for a place in the “to be expanded Super League”. Newcastle, West Ham, Everton, Villa and their (mainly) foreign owners would all be claiming to be massive and throwing money around. Money will one day bring football crashing down… I’m not sure when but I’m sure it will.
  3. I’m tempted to say we should wait and see just how expensive our kits might be next year… £60 wouldn’t surprise me at all.
  4. Remind me what colours the Saudi national team wear…… awful
  5. Bournemouth and Newcastle both played at Wembley against Spurs when they were having White Hart Lane tarted up! I can’t think who the missing name is… Barrow?
  6. Is now really the time and plaice to go fishing for laughs?
  7. Agree, he’s a good broadcaster. Doesn’t seem very ITV to me (unfortunately). isn’t he expected to be the next Countdown host? That and 3 nights a week on Radio 5 might rule him out anyway.
  8. I think a halfway house of a monthly magazine would make some sense. Could still be used to preview all upcoming matches and review those gone and have all the usual features on players and the like.
  9. Bloody hell - Leeds is a sh1thole but Blackpool and Burnley are ok??? You’ve obviously found different versions of those places to the ones I know (and I live up t’north!!!). ????
  10. Yeah I thought that…. The irony…. SL to appoint Cotts MkII. You couldn’t make it up…. So it’s equally likely to the LJ/JM rumour. Nothing should surprise us!
  11. https://www.symondsandsampson.co.uk/office/detail/poundbury-archpoint-house-estate-agents and here he is now - if you’re in the market for a house in Dorset!
  12. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_West_(footballer) only because I managed to read his signature! no wonder we didn’t recognise him, he was only ever on trial by the looks of it. I recognised all the rest - if you put this season’s team in front of me I’d struggle!!!
  13. Great post….. we’re the new Grace Bothers (there’s one for the kids!). or maybe Woolworths… Looks like all those pesky online retailers and out of town stores have pulled our pants down.
  14. Yeah I thought that. They usually earn less than the top players (however nonsensical that seems!!!). And I doubt he’s be entitled to more than a year? Surely we write that into contracts???
  15. No wonder Warnock was never considered… can you imagine the home truths! I think, as a business, we’re now worryingly a combination of a family business and invited members-only club.
  16. In fairness, Lee went along with the whole system/process for a long time…. Towards the end he started having a veiled pop at the way things were done… fast forward to NP… more veiled pops… Do the Lansdowns strike fear into people to an extent that veiled comments/suggests are the best they can do?? I know it’s not popular on here but I don’t really blame Ashton, not a very likeable guy but for me he was only doing the job he was asked to by the owners… he was never sacked, they must have rated him. For me MA = SL.
  17. Well why did he say he had final l sign-off? he could have said “I work with what I’m given and I’m happy to work that way”. Saying what he said was either true or shows him as a weak “yes” man or was just a downright stupid thing to say/a lie. Whatever it is, is a good reason never to hire him again.
  18. Well then he’s weak for accepting a player he didn’t want and a liar about having final sign-off…. None of which presents him in a positive light! We shouldn’t go back to LJ.
  19. Agree. Also, LJ had final sign off on all signings. How do I know? He said!!!! They were all his signings. If Ashton forced them on him, that shows LJ as weak - another reason to not go near him!
  20. Here’s a question: (well 3) After 46 games: Would we be stay up if it were not for point deductions to Derby and Reading? Will will take the magical 50 points? Will we gain more points than last season? oh and another one…. Last year “if the season went on another month we’d be relegated”…. Same again this year??
  21. I think the question is… why’s he gone backwards so fast under Pearson? He look a real prospect a while back, especially in midfield.
  22. Yes it’ll be interesting to see whether we’d survive on purely footballing league (not one affected by financial irregularities) after 46 games or whether we get to the magic 50 points or whether we take more points than last season…. All doubtful.
  23. He was doing well… prior to Pearson. I get the impression Vyner is a “confidence player” and I’m not sure NP would be the best at dealing with that, can’t imagine him doing the arm ‘round the shoulder thing. If NP stays I hope ZV moves on for his own good.
  24. Good post! I shouldn’t worry about trying to make sense of it. NP says every few weeks that he’ll change the team, change the players, get rid of them…. He said it just before the Jan window. Nothing ever seems to change and I’d have thought part of his job was getting the best from what he has, improving them. Maybe that’s another part of the job he doesn’t like - along with transfers, agents, the media, coaching and accepting any responsibility.
