The Pearson Debate - Something Not Mentioned Yet…
Mendip City replied to Harry's topic in Football Chat
As ever, it all leads back to SL. He’s invested… just not often well and I wonder what desire for success he has left in him. We’ve had 20 years of getting nowhere fast… but so has he. -
Spot on! Can you imagine how embarrassing it would be for a Watford fan to read some of the nonsense on here. Any minute now someone will point out the new training ground and tarted up stadium as reasons we’re somehow better than Watford. Do you think Watford are envious of our recent longest ever losing run and longest ever run without a home win? Surely they’d swap a year or two in the Prem and an FA Cup Final for that!
-
That stupid loan to blackpool did neither him nor us any favours. That was the time for a run in the side.
-
That’s the problem, they want to control all output…. That leaves Gregor with little option but to be controversial and challenge the club and manager. The snippet above might be childishly positioned but ultimately asking about 3 at the back is only reflecting what plenty of fans on here have been saying.
-
That’s really rude. We’re all entitled to our opinion. Maybe you didn’t have your eyes open to this: Palmer the sub who was substituted (always an insult to a pro footballer) Palmer who has completed how many 90 mins? Palmer who had a 17 year old selected ahead of him and the main thing I was thinking: Palmer the very high earner - and NP has been clear about having to reduce the wage bill. All about opinions and being respectful with them.
-
Well said! Nothing to add to that other than…. Solid, committed and giving us something to cheer… sounds like Terry Cooper side - and that’ll do for me!

There is a bright young English manager in the North East who might be available soon for them...

As if that wasn’t bad enough.... to rub our noses in it we get the Cretin’s apprentice!

It is, isn’t it! I could only picture the flats but it is there. Amazing really.

Is that a bowling green, roughly where Nelson Mandela House is now?
-
They weren’t fields.... it was all village greens.... full of dog walkers.

The Coronavirus and its impact on sport/Fans Return (Merged)
Mendip City replied to Loderingo's topic in Football Chat
Doesn’t seem like there’s a ban on booing! Not that we’ll need it - hopefully. -
Surely, at the very least, you deserve a yellow card for "ungentlemanly use of facts on otib". Any more of that and you're off.
-
Spot on. If his bosses are listening they will find some serious cash for loan signings. We need at least 3 real men, battlers not battlers in NOW - and Carey needs to return.
-
If Bas said that it must be true. If it was Robbie - forget it, he's a silly man in a lady's wig.
-
Nothing wrong with that interview - he was seething and just about kept it together, he cares. His reaction reminded me of someone.... Me after most games for the last few years. There were better options out there but that's not SC's fault. The fact that SL felt Warnock and Holloway weren't the right fit tells you were that criticism should stand.
-
The only positive I can give you is that their season ticket prices are "miles away" from ours. But you get what you pay for I guess!
-
Surely the moment he takes the job he's no longer a gashead? He's a former gashead. If anyone should be furious when he gets the job it is the Rovers fans - how would we feel if, say, Tinnion turned up at theMinimal Ground?
-
I want Holloway (or Warnock) as manager. I've been watching the club for 34 of my 41 years. I'm a season ticket holder. I make a 450 mile round trip to watch home games. You tell me - am I a fan?
