I know a lot here dont like him but I do. He is the only bloke who makes all his money in the last 10 games of every season ?

Hope to see Colin down the Hippodrome at Xmas. Absolutely love him and one of football's last 'real' characters.

I served in the RAF early 70's with a guy called Bob Warren who played for Chelsea and then his hometown, Argyle. He passed a few years ago so for that sake, I hope they get promotion ( as runners up to Sheff Wed, my other team )

Been going to the Gate since 1958. Its our home unlike the tinkers in North Bristol. Be Happy with it, when we have been top of the prem for 5 seasons and in Europe for the same length of time then start whinging. Lets see football first. Its why I go and not for a day out !!!

That is today's problem. I can only watch the highlights on a Sunday morning. For the past 4 weeks they have been broadcasted at different times, unlike the good old days of Quest when you knew what time they were on. For ITV its about Advertising Revenue and not what sort of viewer it is. -
Couldn't you sleep Reg ??

Nice one del boy, I lived on Winterstoke Road and recognised your Reliant Robin ?

Just check my last post SMTM and I actually admit to supporting 3 teams, City ( always my no 1 team as followed since I was 8 ? Sheff Wed as lived there in my teens and Torquay United, as I love Torquay and Paignton. You could also chuck in Hamilton Academicals as I always loved the name !!

ever since I went to Wembley in 1966 as a Sheff Wed fan ( been well documented on OTIB that I lived there in my teen years), happy we will stay up so.............welcome Everton ?

Quite a powerful article about grief and football.
oldstandrobin replied to LondonBristolian's topic in Football Chat
What a lovely article. My dad took me to AG for my first match in 1958. His dad was from Knowle and an ardent City supporter. Was the days of if you were born north of the Avon ...you were blue, and south....you were thankfully Red. After a few years, we went our separate ways, me to the East End and him to the enclosure with his half brother ( father to @CyderInACan and @SuperDziek) City was constantly a major bond in our life and we did now and then meet up for one of the 'biggies' Luckily Dad and I saw us win in 1966 and again saw us play in the old Division One. So we have been blessed. I lost Dad in 1995 and believe me, it hurt, no longer could I rush home and ring him about our win over ABC team. I had two daughters, neither interested in football, but have a grandson who has just turned 7 and is now ready to take on our legacy. I just have to prepare him for his ordeal he will have to go through !! COYR
