. Football. Why do we do it.

I thought the days of throwing 3-0 leads away against relegation threatened teams was over. Clearly not.

Its a good result when you take a good, hard look at what a patched up side we out there today. We got lots of players playing out of position and dare I say it a couple who are drastically out of form, or not match fit. We have Baker and Pisano to comeback and Lois to get to grips with the English game and show us why he has demanded such a large fee in France. Id say that we may have the best of City still to come this season, and at such a pivotal time, lets get into the play off's and the premiership, YOU REDS!!!!!!
Come back in ten mins, Christ

Oh Jesus Christ please no

We need a win to kickstart our season again. Get the 3 points and our form over the last 4 games (7 from 12 with a tough game at Derby) won’t look so bad.
Anything less and we’re in danger of having a proverbial season of two halves really.

If we are just going to rely on 2 loan players to strengthen in Jan then it’s another promotion chance wasted unfortunately.
Neither of them have played any football this season. Can’t expect them to come in and do much.
Kent has played about 15 minutes since October and completely killed us today.
Walsh is a permanent signing isn’t he?

Ah well, stay strong people, always believe
Always believe has got to be the least applicable song to Bristol City fans possible.
I’m all for doom and gloom when we’re shit and in the relegation zone. By all means, wallow in negativity then.
But the absolute meltdown of some fans at a loss when we’re in virtual nosebleed territory in the table and one win away from a major cup final is unreal. It’s annoying, yes. But let’s chill...! Long way to go yet.

Are we heading for another 8 game defeat again?
Well we’d be doing well to avoid defeat at Derby and home to Man City so very much staring at a 7 game losing run! No certainties in football though.

Cup becoming a major distraction. Was always a fear.
Yes, correct. However, it’s impossible to know how our form would have been with no cup run.

Bloody Derby next week too.

Slightly concerned we might get some heavy legs as the game gets older.

Not sure what Baker was doing there!
Has the stream gone down for everyone?

Hello darkness my old friend.
Well, that was annoying. Just been fuming for 10 minutes. But that’s football I guess.
Pleasantly surprised by a restrained otib too.

I think we need Bryan further forward. Either left side of a 442, or just more advanced centrally. He's one player that can win headers on crosses. We lacked someone getting on the end of balls tonight, as we were against boro and then Bryan made a run to far post to head home.
I honestly think we still need him at the back. For his pace mainly. Wolves are still dangerous.

Feels weird. Looked like it was going to be a barnstorming 11v11 which we could have edged. Completely different now. I am slightly concerned as we’ve struggled against teams that have parked the bus, and Wolves still look like they could be quality on the break.
But this is a new City! Come on lads!
-
I just hope that Paterson and Baker are genuinely fit. Really don’t want us to risk losing them long term. Whatever people might say, promotion is not won or lost today!

If we win today, and Derby do likewise, I think Wolves fans will suddenly be looking back over their shoulder.
They aren’t champions yet.
-
PHEW. Winning by one goal isn’t good for my mental health. Better than losing by one though!
-
What’s happening? Are we holding on?
-
It’s just weird that it goes to 2-1 and I still feel fine. Might be the beers.
-
3.23am here. Get in city!
-
Can someone explain what mags did for those (maybe just me ha) following exclusively on otib?

I’m so happy we’re not completely shit anymore - it improves my general well-being.

The Bristol City v Sunderland Match Day Thread 31

It’s hard to pick a result to sum up 22 years of being a Bristol City fan. But, if pushed, I’d probably choose throwing away a 3-0 lead against the worst team in the league, scoring two own goals along the way, and conceding the last in additional time.
Soemtimes you have to just laugh.
