I have to admit i can see why that pen wasn't given correct decision for me barely any contact certainly not enough for Sykes to go over.

The defender puts his hand on Sykes shoulder and he fell to the ground. It was never a penalty. I agree with Roy Keane he was looking for a pen instead of trying to get a shot on target and score

  2. Great start from the lad. He looks an exciting, talented prospect.

Championship teams will soon have a plan to neutralise his effect on games. It will be interesting to see how he adapts to this.

There are different opinions on that. Listening to TalkSport earlier this week the VaR debate was between Murphy, White and Jordon who pointed out that VaR has increased the accuracy of the game. The counter argument was that it takes too much time to confirm or deny a goal or penalty and reduced the spontaneity of celebration of a goal.

This discussion was after the Brentford/Arsenal fiasco caused by human error since when Mason has been essentially sacked.

However - the bottom line is that VaR is here to stay.

    Var or no var.

football still has many situations where decisions are subjective  to different humans.

id be more inclined to see more respect for officials instead of petulant reactions from players and coaches

Rashford seemed to lose his form in line with his high profile campaigning.  I’m assume he still is involved, but maybe at not such an intense level, if I was paying someone six figures a week (or any wage) , I’d be happy for them to get involved with things outside of work, but only to a point where it didn’t affect work in a detrimental way.

He seems to have more of a football profile again, rather than a campaigner or politician, plenty of time for that full time when he finishes.

When he is on form, a great player to watch.

Partly this and also the Ronaldo factor.

Bruno also back to his best since CR7 left.

Though not of assistance to the OP I thought I would flag that Aldi has a formal association with the "Parking Eye" group.

Aldi generally used to be 90 minutes, but were typically dropped to sixty minutes without the change being flagged. I fell foul of this one time to the tune of £40.

The sign clearly said one hour but looked identical to the previous 90 minutes sign so I hadn't noticed the change. Which was exactly the idea.

The change to Parking Eye, and it has happened at different times around the country and is still happening, is similarly unheralded. Again the signs are small print and look like the previous ones.

Whilst it is still allowing an hour you have to enter your registration in the store or face a £70 fine, I only picked up on this the first time because I overheard a conversation about it whilst in there.

It's very sneaky. There is no sign in store to alert you to the change and the small black terminals near the exit are very easy to miss.

And how easy would it be to put a big brightly coloured sign up by the terminals to tell you to enter your registration?

    Very easy indeed.

And therefore very telling that they haven't.

Less Aldi customers and more victims of legalised muggings.

Didn’t realise this. I parked in Aldi last week and stayed for 1 hour 25 minutes. Had a meeting in the lounge on north street. This is something I’ve done several times before.

Regardless of his 'fixing'...he's a blooming great striker. At 26 he'll be wasted if he gets a long ban. Shame, as I would have loved to see him play for England.

    I agree.
I think he’s the only one who can genuinely deputise and replace Kane.

They need to do a lot more than they have for the first 40 minutes then.

They are struggling to cope with the physicality of the Croatia team, the question is whether they can maintain the physical effort for 90 minutes and maintain concentration throughout, as one lapse against Brazil can be costly.

It’s a shame Croatia are lacking quality players in forward areas. The way they move the ball around is a joy.
