  1. If it were his last visit, would willingly applaud him on a lap of honour at the gate, the game is short of characters and he has been one of the best..!
  2. The injury he is carrying clearly isn’t helping him..!
  3. Thought they looked okay when we played them up there but today were a shadow of the side, presumably injury related and lost confidence..
  4. Remember you cannot take any coins in with you, you will be searched, coins removed and given to charity. Think they are fed up with coins raining down on the home fans - thought they would have appreciated the money, but there you go. Safe travels when it comes, see you there!
  5. Any idea when the tickets go on sale please?
  6. Just think aloud but might he be the person NP needs most? Now available after the Norwich sacking..
  7. Thanks for advice but the January transfer window ends in around six weeks which therefore closes the opportunity to make squad changes does it hence six weeks being relevant? But thanks for adding such value to the thread..
  8. Like us all, I am pretty fed up and disappointed, but I will always try and find some positives, life is too short not to. My point right now would be that a lot of preparation has gone into a very important January transfer window and it is now just days away. Changing NP (who has been integral to that planning) in advance of the period makes little sense, and in reality, if we were to, I expect we would end up someone with little direct management / Championship experience - a temporary appointment would surely heighten the risk of going down? My wider concern is that a lot of decent teams build around a strong spine - commanding keeper, strong and big centre half’s, central midfield dynamo / captain, and a tough, big centre forward. Let’s hope we can tick one or two those boxes as I am not sure we fill any right now? My belief is we have enough quality to stay up, and let’s hope January brings some commanding, leader types who will add to some of the exciting talent we already have. Tough times, but let’s stay with it..
  9. How good will we feel when we beat Rotherham ?
  10. Much improved today, big shout out to the team all of whom put in a good shift, but also to the fans, stayed with it and created a result positive atmosphere. We have competed with the teams at the top well and there’s no reason to feel we won’t go on an have a decent season and mid table plus finish from here. Well done all, deserved a result today...
  11. People are fighting horrible illnesses and many will have been diagnosed today. This is a game, yes passionate, but getting into a negative blame game will benefit nobody. Hard but try and find some positives, it will always help. Personally, I am looking forward to Saturday and to when some of better players recover from injury, we have really missed them..
  12. Okay, none of us are particularly happy with our form but we have no option other than to weather this horrible financial situation we find ourselves in - also remember we are a good way through now. It would be easy to say balls to it and boo or turn our backs entirely, but what use is that to OUR club. We have a small squad, have had to cut our cloth accordingly, and despite being left in tatters by previous poor senior exec’s, we remain competitive at this difficult level. Difficult game on Saturday but remember it is only three points is up for grabs. We then use the cup break to regroup, and I have no doubt that Nige and those who matter will be drawing up plans for January, it’s no secret we cannot allow ourselves to go down, it would set us back years. Remember this is an incredibly close league this year, two or three wins and we will back up there again. Exciting plans ahead as a club, an incredible catchment area to one day benefit from when we finally go up and pleasingly we have Nige and Tins at the helm, they both talk a great deal and sense, and I would suggest that Nige, with one arm tied behind his back is doing everything possible with what he has, as limited as it clearly is. The lads need you on Saturday, it is a big game, but remember the outcome will not determine our whole season, so stick with it and take your frustration out on the opposition and officials, we can make that 12th man difference that makes so much difference to the lads. Hard, but come on, sing loud and proud all..!
  13. We all know we are in deep shit financially and gradually working our way through a very difficult period before we can invest once again in the team. We have a lot of freebies and more players heading out of contract too, transition absolutely applies to us. Its an emotional game though, and after a great away win at West Brom, we return to ground today with a real bump. My point though is that despite a real lack consistency, we are ahead of a lot of much bigger clubs, many with significant history including time in the Premiership? Contentious but Sunderland, Watford, Stoke, Middlesbrough, West Brom, Ipswich, Derby, Sheffield Wednesday etc., you can argue many should be well ahead of us. After last season, a top half finish for me would be real progress, okay 12th at the moment but despite everything that has gone on, when we clear more who don’t want to be here, we can build again? Hard after today but stay with it, we will get there...
  14. Okay, let’s be honest, OUR club has been ill for some time. It’s been pretty rotten to the core for a long time now and it will be some time before we start to surface again and rise once again. My question to you fans is if you had the chance to write a prescription that helps us get out of the mess we are in, what would you prescribe? I’ll start with a couple of signings in January, okay free, but we could do with a big, nasty centre forward and a midfield hard nut / leader in midfield - for me, we are too nice!! Every good team has a core of quality through the middle - keeper, centre half’s, midfield general and a decent centre forward...
  15. There might be more investment and ‘criteria’ to fulfil but the refereeing this season has been terrible, and sadly, it is clear very few have ever played the game..
  16. Can’t say I like the idea of it but is it time to introduce it? Financially, there is so much at stake and I can’t help but feel the standard of officials in this league is worse than at any stage before? We got what we deserved today, but that said with correct decisions it would have been a different game..
  17. Are they being emailed do you know? Haven’t had mine yet hence the question.. Hopefully we take a good number up! Thanks in advance.
  18. You are right about who is affordable and who would come here, but who knows how attractive we are in reality? I always fancied having Chris Wilder here myself, but others, Daniel Farke, Nuno Santo, would John Terry and his contacts be worth a punt with NP upstairs, dare I say Alex Neil (as his teams are always well organised and drilled), Bielsa, Solskjaer, and yes, some of these are and were available during NP’s time. That said I was genuinely excited when NP was appointed and sincerely still want him to succeed.
  19. We all get excited about football returning but why is there so much expectancy that City should easily turn teams over all of a sudden? We scraped through last season and played some pretty poor football being honest. We haven’t spent a single penny on transfers this summer. We have brought in a couple of lower league players with potential, one player with a decent pedigree at this level, but all on frees. A football team doesn’t somehow become world beaters unexpectedly, it takes time to develop a side, and a lot of investment. With FFP, we are basically broke and working with handcuffs on or balls and chains in reality, aren’t we? That said there were positives yesterday, spells in the first half where our movement and tempo were quite incredible, albeit we didn’t keep it up. It is undoubtedly going to be a long season and if we somewhere towards mid table come season end, we will have done well. Is our Manager the right man? In my opinion, there are better coaches around who have us playing better by now, but of those available when Nigel was appointed, he would have got my vote. In six to eight games though, if results don’t improve, I expect he will leave, but let’s hope we are in a much better place by then and that we build further..
  20. What about the FA Cup comment then, not the same principle to you? Not bleating, too old for that my friend - I’ll drop to your level, off you go to do your homework ?
  21. Do you think City offer entertaining football then? If it weren’t for the lesser nations or smaller football league teams, it wouldn’t be the beautiful game it is at the top hey? If Man City or United fans suggested the likes of City shouldn’t appear in the FA Cup, would you feel the same? I am Welsh by the way, I just don’t get why people continually knock smaller teams..and by the way, England have hardly hit the heights, have they?
  22. So in the same vain, why not just have a Premier league with ten top teams in and bugger everybody else, City included? Strange comment..
  23. I’m Welsh and have been a City ST holder for 30 or so years, great result and possibly not deserved, but just wish it was against any other side than Ukraine..lovely nation of peaceful people, so sad what they are going through.
  24. Any idea when it is? Palmer, O Dowda etc...
  25. Renewed because if I didn’t, I wouldn’t bother going - not enjoying it but it’s just about better than shopping with the missus ?
