  1. I still have my original £100s worth, somewhere, no idea where though
  2. I think you're right, I was far too generous regarding "Gary Stanley and his lovely hair cut"...he could easily been replaced by a life size cardboard cut out....Our group's chant..previously referenced... was the only positive we could think of, by the same token, we downgraded Bob Taylor's chant as he became less effective to "Bob, Bob average Bob, average Bobby Taylor".... the joyous humour of the Park End are much missed, as is the small change collected during certain games!!!
  3. I wonder if Everton ( a big club in name, history and support-but in today's world, a humdrum prem Club that will win nothing and have no massively politically influential backers - unlike Man City/Newcastle etc.) are being used to give the view that the prem are prosecuting their offenders....Could they afford the legal expenses that Man City are brining into play? It's the fans I feel sorry for in all of this.... What good would a bankrupted Everton serve other than to give Liverpool the opportunity to move into a world class stadium that has been built without completely ruining the community within which it stands?
  4. Along with Gary Stanley, Scott had a "very lovely" hair cut and the swagger of a star player...alas on the pitch they were bang average and not that hard working- McGarvey did put a few away, but he was not a team player....and the Fans could see that!
  5. Perhaps they should make claim against the PL for not handing out the deduction earlier, after all it was not in Everton’s power to award themselves a 10 point deduction. In hindsight, a few dodgy bets around not gaining 10 points in the last 4 games might have solved any financial problems for them
  6. It’s a big If, Everton are no longer one of the big boys…God forbid if one of the top table gets a slap!
  7. I am struggling to understand how all 3 can have a claim, surely only one went down because Everton did not gain a deduction…..or am I being thick?
  8. Come on now, that was the prototype for the new stand, can you not see the similarities?
  9. Well, we all know what happened the last time an ex England player became manager at the gate........
  10. I would not be surprised if we did, with Frank at the helm!
  11. 10,000 season ticket holders not turning up might effect food and drink sales, but they've already got the seat money....turn up and express yourself, whatever your opinion... Some may agree with the decision, I mean, some think Johnson Jnr did a good job!
  12. Johnson, given huge investment and time, absolutely messes up the club…Pearson, given no money and sorts out the club, obviously not being given any time… Unfathomable injustice at play it would appear ! Let’s see how it plays out
  13. For factual correctness: the proposed ground is 2.9 miles North of Oxford City Centre, about 800 yards outside of the city boundary. North Oxford is very expensive, but Kidlington is a village, not part of Oxford and condsiderably less expensive than the City. It’s more like the gas moving to Downend!
  14. I doubt it was Bristol Poly, standards were higher then, I'm thinking one of the lesser Welsh establishments, like Pontypool college and a course fail the in the bleedin' obvious
  15. university degree ????????? My tutors always told me you need evidence that is relevant to the argument ....GCG and ashton gate are about as relevant to the Mem stand planning application as a failed application to build a shopping mall on Aston Court citing they got one at Patchway.....the situations and community view will be different for every situation.....not comparable
  16. Behind the unused stand - Great to see myself on the terraces, it was bleedin' freezin'
  17. Best of luck with the Kidlington site, great train access and free from that B'stard Kassam at last - here's hoping it all goes through without too many problems!
  18. Let's hope the ref sends in the result paperwork on time...hate to go too early on this one ?
  19. Knew Sheridan when she was a reporter for the Weston Mercury- she was always well researched and straight with people - loved her football. I think she'll develop her commentary and do a great job - Lovely person too, which helps, has many of GT's characteristics
  20. anyone know when you type s-a-u-c-e, this auto corrects to source ?
  21. Is it that expensive because it has a splodge of JB's special Source on it?
  22. Well, with Jailbird Joe not doing too well, there's always the last chance saloon in Horefield!
  23. I would imagine that the vast majority of residents are not Greens round them parts. More likely liberals(with a small l), lawyers, doctors, tech types etc... those who can write without lined paper, work out acronyms, add up to 12 in their own head, read a letter with more than 8 lines etc.... The sort of folk that don't hang around the blue few unless it's for business purposes - legal aid, clap clinic, personal device investigation, interbreeding genetic research etc...
  24. Meanwhile on gas chat - Just how few season tickets did they sell for their "Atyeo sized stand" if they can fit them in on the side section??? 2 hours ago yattongas, peterhooper57, and 4 more like this Quote Post by wertongas on 2 hours ago Great news that the stand is finally going up. Club are probably aiming to get the southwest section completed first so that they can seat all the season ticket holders that have to be moved to other parts of the ground. Everbody, Councillors and staff at BCC have supported the application except the Greens, so it is very likely the application is now going to go through so the club might as well get on and start the work. Greens and nymbies futile effort to delay the application is just that, I have dealt with thousands of consultations on the environmental aspect of applications and comments made by the Greens and nymbies are spurious, petty and in some cases untrue. Some still think that the club should hold back on the construction because planning laws may have been broken, but the planning department have broken every statutory law on the timeline of the application. Hopefully Edwards will see sense and withdraw her requst for the application to go to committee and we can enjoy the first major stand to be built at a Rovers ground by the club in most of our lifetimes sooner than later.
