  1. Actually, I thought Fatty James was supposed to be covering right too, given the massive space him and Bell gave to Birmingham in the build up to the first goal! Could have grazed 10 cows in it! let’s be honest, once Pring came on it all changed
  2. Bless him, he was constantly out of position, couldn’t beat an egg, tackle, select a pass or cross consistently yesterday. I don’t think Semenyo’s positional play would have made any difference
  3. Knew his grandmother and auntie, saw him play when he was a kid, amazing player then. As an Oxford Utd youth he was a cut above, watched him play at the old Westminster College grounds many a time. He loved Oxford, the club and the city, and was a lovely lad. Such a shame for his family and friends - RIP Joey
  4. I remember being it the same position here one Christmas...we kept Johnson, same result....indeed, look what he left us, admittedly we also had Ashton helping him!
  5. Well, yes in the 70's and early 80's that was true, however, little wraps of white powder can be bought well in advance and consumed in a short space of time....pubs taken out of the equation
  6. I thought the Cardiff Fans that tried to fight the traffic on the Portway and Coronation Rd entry slip were rock hard. equally, 50 to 60 year old city fans in all the gear, posturing on the park wall were as hard. Both groups, looked ridiculous and, had they engaged with the object of their aggression, My prediction is they’d have come off worse. proof that cocaine does not promote good choice management
  7. Self-govern, you fell for that, what exactly did we not self-govern then….? examples, trade deals maybe, I mean, who exactly is being trampled by the rush….I too remember the days prior to the EU….very black and white it was
  8. In fairness, Brexit was his ticket to number 10…he is living proof that there are a lot of stupid people in this country that believe bull shit and do not check facts and think the man’s a totally useless, as he was at Uni
  9. So do I, it absolutely concurs with everything I witnessed on the day, perhaps slightly underplayed if truth be told! I left the ground somewhat relieved that Italy had won…because I was very worried that many would not be safe if we had… Certainly the Wembley staff were
  10. Andy Cole was an out and out striker, he scored 12 in 29 games in a not very good team, look how very average Bob Taylor was in that team, I think he scored 8 post promotion.... I don't think out and out strikers are luxury players, if they score! same could be said of Lineker, Defoe, Phillips, Greaves etc, they rarely strayed inside of their own half
  11. Lee Johnson demonstrates a skilfully executed back pass as used in City's promotion push
  12. I sit at the top of the lower LS, the boards are an issue, I find certain colours very distracting, the yellow and white were particularly painful, I had to put on my sunglasses, as I am very sensitive to bright light. It was slightly better last night, but still distracting. I believe, for some, the bright animated images could well induce migraine headaches. That aside, I do not pay nearly £600 a year to watch advertising hoardings, indeed as they are so annoying if I was in the market to purchase any products or services the advertisers supply I'd probably put my business elsewhere. This applies to ashton gate and all televised matches too, many England games have been particularly blighted by them
  13. Yes, well we could apply that logic to any situation that requires law enforcement…back in the real world however… by coppers I refer to those senior officers who are paid handsomely from the public purse to protect those responsible law abiding citizens who need such things…their lack of planning, early intervention ensured that by the time they deployed their hapless foot soldiers a large scale confrontation was unavoidable…. They failed to protect their own officers and their paymasters…..well deserved criticism, should have been sacked!
  14. The coppers should have seen it coming, I arrived there at 2pm and it was clear something was going seriously wrong, there was no intervention, it's not a cheap attack, they only showed up in numbers at about 6pm after several successful outer ring breeches had happened. FA cup finals are regular and interest a lower number of fans They could have used the Glastonbury perimeter fence around Wembley, easy to erect and simple to open up for access during periods when the stadium was not in use...as used during the Olympics!
  15. It was not the stewarding, the whole set up was piss poor...no outer security cordon meant that a large group could easily congregate and charge the (temporary) barriers and stewards.....the police were no where to be seen until very late in....so, proactive and planned security 0 coked and pissed chancers 1! That would never have happened at the Olympics where you passed through an outer security barrier and then the turnstiles. Same city....different planners...useless coppers
  16. Good point…the fact that home fans cannot purchase any comestibles or beverages in full view from the normal seating makes AG a poor stadium..but we do allow the away support to purchase and gain a glimpse from the Landsdown corner… this keeps AG above crap???
  17. If your definition of a 'Better Ground' is one with restricted views, crumbling terraces, a poor playing surface and quality tea...then yes it is, can't argue with that!
  18. It was a total shambles - The FA, Met and the Government should hold their heads...the fine and behind closed doors game are irrelevant. The damage to this country's well built reputation for holding successful major international events (96 Euros and 2012 Olympics) has been shattered. The final's organisation reflected the current leadership of this country...arrogant, unprepared and shambolic in its approach. The ticketless hoards that packed the Olympic Way personified an international view that English football fans are jingoistic, self-indulgent, undisciplined and out of control thugs..... even when the vast majority are not! We can kiss goodbyeee to any thoughts of world cup finals here, even if we have the best stadia and infrastructure in Europe...it makes me weep to think that Germany and Spain will have hosted 2 world cups each since we last did..... No doubt the powers that be and terminally stupid will say it's the "dirty foreigner's fault that we are not chosen, Brexit and all that...
  19. Meanwhile on the other side of Town (with apologies to Alice Cooper) Welcome to their nightmare I doubt you're gonna like it I think you're gonna feel we are wrong A Memorial vacation A necessary sedation We wanna a home where we belong Welcome to our nightmare Welcome to a breakdown I hope JB didn't scare you That's just the way we are when we go down! We sweat and laugh and scream here 'Cause life is just a dream here You know inside a tent is right at home here You're welcome to our nightmare, yeah…….
  20. All wearing the same coat and trackie bottoms me thinks, possibly donated by the groundsman or a tramp off the Gloucester rd
  21. Got to love this comment on Sag Chat, great demonstration of self awareness Bristol Rovers are set to complete the signing of left-back Junior Brown on a free transfer. Brown is a versatile left-sided player who can play as a left-back, a wing-back or even as a winger further up the field. The 32-year-old is vastly experienced, having endured spells in the EFL with the likes of Fleetwood Town, Scunthorpe United and Shrewsbury Town. Brown, who was also on Coventry’s books, joined Scunthorpe last summer on a one-year deal, making 14 appearances in League Two for the Iron. Fills ALL Rovers criteria on 3 fronts: 1 Fleetwood, 2: Coventry 3: Over 30. What a ******* joke we have become
